Job Description Job Description The Business Development &
Capture Intern supports the company’s growth initiatives by
assisting with research, pipeline management, and capture
activities. This role is designed to provide exposure to the
business development and capture lifecycle while contributing to
the team’s efficiency. The Intern will work under the direction of
the Business Development & Proposal Manager and Analyst, gaining
hands-on experience in federal contracting, opportunity
identification, and capture processes. Responsibilities:
Opportunity Research & Pipeline Support Review opportunity websites
(SAM.gov, GovWin) and compile initial opportunity data. Assist in
preparing background briefs on customers, competitors, and
potential teaming partners. Support updates to the company’s
opportunity pipeline and trackers. Capture Support Assist with
scheduling and documenting capture-related meetings. Take notes
during internal capture sessions and log action items. Prepare
draft research summaries and input slides for capture briefings.
Support development of customer/market intelligence packages. BD
Outreach & Coordination Assist with scheduling customer and partner
meetings, industry days, and networking events. Prepare agendas,
note-taking, and follow-up documentation. Track customer and
partner engagements in CRM/pipeline tools. Administrative Support
Support bi-weekly BD meetings by assisting with slides, notes, and
updates. Assist with maintaining capture files, folders, and
version control. Provide logistics support for industry conferences
and trade shows (registrations, materials, prep). Other Duties
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned in
support of BD and capture activities. Learning Objectives Gain
exposure to the federal contracting process and capture lifecycle.
Develop professional skills in research, writing, and business
communications. Learn how to use industry-standard tools (SAM.gov,
GovWin, SharePoint). Required experience: Current student or recent
graduate in business, computer science, communications, or related
field. Strong research, organizational, and writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Interest in federal contracting, business development, or capture
management. Available to work part time up to 10 hours a week. US
Citizenship required.
