Job Description:

part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers you will perform
structural analysis on pressurized components for various
spaceflight systems. You will have responsibility for structural
analysis of fluid systems across an entire launch vehicle stage.
Provide expert guidance on structural integrity requirements for a
complex launch vehicle, structural design consultation and
structural guidance with designers. Manage and support a wide
variety of structural analysis of fluid systems hardware and
mounting. Help improve enterprise analysis capabilities such as
creating process automation tools for model creation, strength
checks, and analysis report generation. Provide expert guidance on
system/part development and trade studies regarding structural
integrity, and identify opportunities for safety improvements and
weight savings. Mentoring junior structural analysts is an
important part of this role, as well as maintain and reporting on
activity schedule and technical status.We are looking for someone

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace
engineering, or equivalent
- 2-10 + years of relevant experience with the structural
analysis of pressurized components and systems including
tubing/piping, pressure vessels, and valves
- Experience in the use of FEA analysis tools (ANSYS
preferred)and the validation of structural analysis models
- Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)
- Experience with a wide variety of manufacturing methods,
material selection, testing, characterization & allowable
development
- Experience analyzing components in high vibration
environments
- Experience with classical hand calculations for stress analysis
based on common aerospace reference materials (Shigley, Bruhn,
Roark etc.)
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:
- Mastery of the application and use of machining, additive
manufacturing, welding and/or casting and their effects on
structural integrity
- Experience with common fluids system materials such as high
strength aluminum alloys, nickel-based Superalloys, titanium
alloys, and corrosion resistant steels
- Experience with cryogenic and elevated temperature systems and
the applicable analysis approaches
- Experience with fatigue analysis and linear-elastic fracture
mechanics (hand calculations, NASGRO, etc.)
- Working knowledge of metallic and composite overwrapped
pressure vessels (COPVs)
- Demonstrated process automation experience using scripting
(VBA, Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, etc.)
- Very proficient with one or more of the following analysis
codes: Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, OptistructDon't meet every
