_POSITION SUMMARY _Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and overseeing the daily operations (receiving, inventory, logistics, and distribution functions)of all supply chain functions conducted within the hospital facility, utilizing best practices while serving as the liaison between the Supply Chain Management Services, Warehouse, and the hospital. Manage campus-based hospital supply chain staff in receiving, internal distribution, replenishment, shipping, general stores, strategic planning & inventory management, including the integration of supply chain services within the hospitals primary functions. Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide or support services, assess and improve supply chain performance, and ensure orientation and continuing education of the respective teams. Responsible for assisting with management and oversight of inventory and process management for all supply locations (Operating Room, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Central Distribution) within the hospital to ensure products are available for clinicians and patients. Will direct and budget the Supply Chain Management Department at the local site optimizing Supply Chain objectives. As a leader, will promote the development and implementation of best practices and the cultivation of a high reliability organization by maintaining visibility and effective communication with hospital executives, department heads, suppliers, and appropriate others to ensure effective departmental operations.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain a cost effective and efficient materials process (physically, procedurally, and technologically) utilizing LEAN principles to ensure that necessary supplies are available when needed for all acute care delivery & materials, Operating Room materials, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology and procedure suites and Nursing areas in support of meeting patient outcomes/experience, operational and fiscal objectives as they relate to Supply Chain Strategy & Optimization and workforce planning & optimization.
  • Develop advanced supply distribution processes and inventory level controls to ensure product is efficiently and effectively delivered to customers throughout the organization, andthat adequate PAR levels are maintained while balancing carrying costs and storage costs with having the right supplies in the right place at the right time. Additionally, will identify dependable secondary supply sources as might be needed in a crisis. Establish performance metrics to measure productivity, improving logistics and materials management performance and outcomes through increased unit-based inventory turns, elimination of duplicate inventories, reducing unofficial inventories, and decreasing inventory write-offs, while improving customer satisfaction.
  • Execute the infrastructure project plan for the facility. This includes the implementation of product standardization programs, operational plan for all point of use systems, manage disaster supplies and processes, ensuring facility/facilities are prepared for disasters.
  • Develop, direct, and enforce departmental policies and procedures; provides documentation of same directly or through staff, as designated. Develop department goals and objectives in accordance with the needs of the hospital. Ensure departmental procedures and record keeping are compliant with requirements set forth by the Department of Public Health, Joint Commission, FDA, and OSHA.
  • Assure that the department implements and completes all Value Analysis conversions in a timely manner. All conversions are coordinated and discussed with Key Stakeholder hospital leadership according to the product/procedure discipline
  • Develop and is accountable for the achievement of departmental goals and objectives. Ensure compliance with the system Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), conduct Clinical rounding, and provide follow up of all issues with the Clinical Leadership
  • Communicate expectations and vision for top tier performance, with goals, metrics and provide ongoing feedback. Demonstrate and promote strategic thinking and drive problem-solving by empowering and supporting team members to be responsible and accountable within their scope of practice, including positive work interactionswithin Supply Chain, between departments and customers.
  • Promote and support staff participation in applying continuous improvement to existing processes to enhance the utilization of people and materials, based on expanded use of metrics through analytics and information technology. Hold operational team members accountable for maintaining appropriate manpower & schedules, quality improvement measures within their areas of responsibility.
  • Accountable for guaranteeing all implantable and products are compliant with inventory tracking regulations and best practices, and managed and delivered appropriately and timely across the health system. Ensure all patient care areas maintain adequate supplies to meet safe and effective patient care safety, needs, and outcomes, and ensure logistic and materials management activities are integrated with quality outcomes to deploy continuous improvement and patient safety throughout.
  • Act as Emergency Management Representative on matters related to supply chain operations, including but not limited to, planning, sourcing, and stocking of supplies to accommodate clinical practices, supply location reconfiguration, system tracking of supply chain consumption via the inventory management system, and/or transportation of equipment and supplies throughout the IDN.
  • Ensure all equipment, and product receiving, and disposition functions are in place, used and support best accounting practices, including FDA Product Recall actions, for product removal /return across the Health First.
  • Lead Supply Chain Operations in the surveillance of customer service satisfaction through face-to-face interactions and complaint management to improve logistics and materials management deficiencies in customer service and experience.LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Education:Bachelors degree in Business or related field
  • Work Experience: Five (5) years leadership and proven healthcare management expertise in program planning and development, project management and performance improvement. Extensive knowledge in supply chain logistics, inventory management, LEAN or other process improvement techniques, distribution facilities and medical mall support models.
