Description:Job Description?To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by\:Ensuring the financial? integrity of Health First/HF Medical Management by performing established financial processes that enable and expedite the billing and collections.? This includes\: Customer Service, Pre-registration, obtaining prior authorizations, referrals and collections according to Federal/State rules, regulations and compliance guidelines.??Knowledge of business office applications to include Microsoft Word and Excel as well as other standard office equipmentDemonstrates knowledge of and supports the organizations mission, vision and value statement.Completes work within the authorized time to ensure compliance with department standards.Maintains established benchmarks as related to the assigned tasks and shows continual growth and improvement in benchmarks.Maintain a clean and organized work environmentRespond positively to stressful situationsAbility to work independently throughout the systems to access and update information as needed.Obtain accurate demographic and insurance information from the patient in a pleasant, efficient manner and input correctly with attention to detail in the patient management system.? Verifying patient?s eligibility of insurance, updating insurance and copy information to the patients account.Adheres to all registration policies to ensure patient?s privacy and the confidentiality of the Health information.Constructively participate in achieving departmental goals.Constructively participates in the team Gallup Action PlanAssists with training new staff on department specific procedures and applications.Demonstrate ability to accept responsibility for all aspects of job performance and departmental success.Demonstrate in depth communication and problem solving skills.Provide superior customer service focused on professional and effective communicationComplete authorizations and referral requests in a timely manner to ensure patient care is not compromised by delays in obtaining authorizations.Effectively coach/educate team members to improve qualityMaintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of operationsMaintain successful relations with other areas, Health First associates and physicians? offices.Process assigned accounts timely and maintain quality standards as set by the departmentDemonstrate the ability for on-going analysis of processes to identify opportunities and make suggestions for improvement.?Review and process accounts from various department assigned reportsRecognize trends and escalate issues to management.Obtain authorizations as required by individual payer requirements.Ensures authorizations are completed prior to date need to avoid any lost revenuePerforms other duties as assigned by managementQualification:Qualifications?High School Diploma requiredOne year experience in Healthcare billing and/or related field requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGeneral knowledge of coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)General knowledge of medical terminologyGeneral knowledge of accounting principlesComputer experience required in Microsoft Windows applicationsDemonstrates ability to relate well to all customersAbility to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value and service.Working knowledge of managed care payers and Medicare relations preferred
