steps. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has a opening for an
Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer - / Principal Electro-Mechanical
Design Engineer - to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals within our Vehicle Engineering Organization. This
position is located in Melbourne, FL. - - Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop wiring harness/cable assembly installations
into air vehicles for multiple aerospace programs using SAE AS
50881 and proven commercial practices as a guide.
- Working independently under general supervision and as part of
a large multi-disciplined team.
- Collaborate with inter-departmental vehicle sub-system
departments including aircraft structure, equipment installation,
hydraulics, environmental control systems, and manufacturing
teams.
- Facilitating design reviews with key stakeholders to ensure
designs meet requirements.
- Attending internal program, customer and/or supplier technical
exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to
provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
- The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work
environment with high expectations, significantly diverse
assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all
levels.Position may be filled as either an Electro-Mechanical
Design Engineer -OR Principal Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer
-depending on the qualifications below.Basic Qualifications:
- The basic qualifications of the Electro-Mechanical Design
Engineer -are a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND
2 years of engineering experience.
- The basic qualifications of the Principal Electro-Mechanical
Design Engineer -are a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM
discipline AND 5 years of engineering experience, OR Master's
degree AND 3 years of engineering experience.
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated
government secret clearance, and any program access(es) required
for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined
by the company.
- Experience in a 3D design tool such as NX, Catia V5, or ProE
-Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with wire harness design and routing principles such
as EMI separation, military connectors and backshells, shielding
and overbraid, splicing, minimum bend radius, chafe protection,
electrical bonding, and grounding.Salary Range: $75,300 -
$112,900Salary Range 2: $92,600 - $139,000The above salary range
represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers
a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the
scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's
experience, education, skills and current market
conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for
overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
