steps. - Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a
Staff Responsible/Analysis Engineer - Fire Protection Systems with
experience in aircraft fire protection subsystems development to
join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the
future. - This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. This
position is fully onsite with no remote work available. Key
responsibilities may include:
- Performing responsible engineer activities, which include all
aspects of fire protection system/component design and development
including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system
test & verification, and troubleshooting. These activities may also
include participating on a subcontractor management team and will
act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware
development, qualification, and procurement.
- Performing system related analysis, such as performance
simulation, in support of the development of the fire protection
subsystem including integration with other aircraft
subsystems.
- System level test planning, execution support, verification,
data processing, and troubleshooting.
- System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure
airworthiness criteria are met.
- Attending internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical
exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to
provide and/or obtain progress status updates.Basic Qualifications:
- Staff Responsible/Analysis Engineer - Bachelor of Science
degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
discipline AND 12 years of engineering experience, OR Master's
degree in STEM AND 10 years of engineering experience, OR PhD in
STEM AND 7 years of engineering experience
- Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final
adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es)
required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as
determined by the company.
- Must have professional experience related to the development
and integration of fire protection subsystems or
componentsPreferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with
focus on thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer
disciplines
- Experience with aircraft subsystem development, with
requirements definition, specification development, component
analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and
verification for advance aircraft.
- Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat
transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and
subsystems
- Experience modeling fluid systems utilizing Amesim,
MATLAB/Simulink, Thermal Desktop, Flomaster, and/or STAR-CCM+
software
- Experience with the military airworthiness certification
process using MIL-HDBK-516
- Experience interpreting component detail drawings,
specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
- Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals, including
generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals and
BOEs
- Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated
product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and
external) relationsSalary Range: $147,700 - $221,500The above
salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop
Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary
offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and
the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market
conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for
overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
