steps. - Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Sr
Principal Electrical Engineer with experience in subsystems
development to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals
within our Vehicle Organization. This role is located in Melbourne,
FL. - Responsibilities involve multiple aspects of aircraft
subsystem development including electrical design, analysis,
requirements, lab testing and data post processing, and working
shipside to help troubleshoot issues. - These aircraft subsystems
may include, but are not limited to, Avionic System Architecture,
Cable Design, and Electrical Power Generation & Distribution. Key
Responsibilities May Include:
- Supporting design requirements for electrical power generation,
conversion and distribution systems, and circuit protective
requirements for aerospace vehicle systems including Electrical
Loads Analysis, test procedures, power architectures, reports,
analyses, and other vehicle power related deliverables.
- Authoring Statements of Work, CDRL/SDRL Catalogues, Procurement
Specifications, Technical Evaluations, Sole Source Justifications,
Technical Coordination Memorandums.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as, but not limited
to, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461F, MIL-STD-810G, DO-160, DO-178, and
DO-254.
- Responsible engineer activities, which include all aspects of
managing system/component design and development including trade
studies, layouts, architecture definition support, system test &
verification support, and troubleshooting. - These activities may
also include participating on a subcontractor management team and
will act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for
hardware development, qualification, and procurement.
- Reviewing and dispositioning supplier technical documentation
such as ICDs, CIDs, SDD, SQA, Test Plans, Procedures and Reports,
FRACAS, FMEA, FMECA, SVD, and TDPs, etc. as well as other
non-technical documents such as IMS and IPMR.
- Supporting system level test planning, execution support,
verification, data processing, and troubleshooting.
- Supporting system level evaluations to verify requirements and
ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
- Working independently under general supervision and as part of
a large multi-disciplined team.
- Attending internal program, customer and/or supplier technical
exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to
provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
- Working in a fast-paced work environment with high
expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and
collaborative/team settings across all levels.Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of
engineering experience in electrical design of air vehicle systems,
OR Master's degree AND 6 years of engineering experience.
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated
government secret clearance, and any program access(es) required
for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined
by the company.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with military aircraft subsystem development, with
requirements definition, specification development, component
analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and
verification for advance aircraft.
- Experience interpreting component detail drawings,
specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
- Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516
- Experience supporting Functional Configuration Audit and
Physical Configuration Audit (FCA/PCA)Salary Range: $118,600 -
$178,000The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when
determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
