Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Sr.
Principal Engineer Systems to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
Position Summary / Responsibilities The Melbourne Manned Aircraft
Design (MAD) Center of Excellence (CoE) is seeking a Sr. Principal
Systems Engineer under Systems Engineering to support key program/s
in the Aeronautics Systems Sector (NGAS). The selected candidate
will perform system engineering activities for all levels of a
total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, test,
installation, operation, and maintenance.Essential Functions: -
Performs systems integration, and verification for total systems. -
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade
studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies
to translate customer requirements into hardware and software
specifications. - Support system requirements development,
management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer
requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further
allocate to lower level requirements. - Generation and updating of
System and sub-system level specifications in DOORS, including
creation of Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM) and
verification traceability (tracing requirements to test
plans/procedures/results) Basic Qualifications:
---Sr. Principal Engineer Systems: 9 years of professional work
experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Science, technology,
Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), OR 7 years of professional work
experience with a Masters Degree in STEM discipline. ---An active
Secret DoD Clearance with an investigation in the past 5 years.
---Ability to obtain additional Special Access Program (SAP)
clearance before establishing a start date (contingency) Preferred
Qualifications: - Experience with system engineering tools such as
IBM Rational DOORS - First-hand experience with requirements
management - Experience with verification of system requirements -
Familiarity with system documents such as System/Subsystem
Specifications, Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM), etc.
- Experience with Agile / Scrum / DevOps Salary Range: $112,000 USD
- $168,000 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus
in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
