Within this opportunity, a successful Senior Systems Engineer will contribute to the Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) implementation for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Common Missile Compartment (CMC) and development, integration, and deployment of Digital Transformation (DX) capabilities.
As a CMC Senior Systems Engineer for MBSE, you will:
--- Play a leading role in transforming the CMC Program into a fully Model-Based organization, including the rapid implementation of the "Full Digital Thread" from Concept Requirements all the way through to Manufacturing, Integration, Verification, & Deployment
--- Employ MBSE approaches to developing products using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF) and MBSE resources to capture, maintain, and visualize a total system solution within an integrated system model to communicate the design and facilitate automation of integration with other domains
--- Work as a thought leader and pathfinder to develop, optimize & demonstrate best practices and modern MBSE processes & standards for incorporation into the wider FBM Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) organizations
--- Integrate state of modeling and DX deployment for Customer facing presentations on state of MBSE using Modeling and DX in multiple working group meetings
--- Integrate and collaborate with the FBM MBE Core Team and associated Communities of Practice to demonstrate the adoption of modern industry standards and emerging technologies
--- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems--analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
--- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
--- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
--- Lead research and identify digital capabilities available and developing at the Enterprise and commercial levels for utilization as opportunities on the CMC program
--- Lead and coordinate with subject matter experts across LM Space for deployment of capabilities for use on CMC and FBM DX Roadmap
Basic Qualifications:
--- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related Engineering discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
--- Systems Modeling software experience (i.e. Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody).
--- Familiarity with MBSE or MBE tools utilized in design, development, verification, analysis, execution AND/OR managing model content.
--- Experience in systems engineering processes such as requirements development, requirements management, systems architecture, CONOPs, systems design, design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), verification, AND/OR model based verifications.
--- Knowledge or experience in SysML efforts and tools.
--- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
--- Master's Degree in Systems Engineering or relevant certifications such as INCOSE or Object Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeling Professional (OCSMP)
--- Experience with developing products for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program
--- Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change
--- Applying SysML to Systems Engineering efforts and working with modern SysML tools
--- Experience with Agile Project Management
--- Experience as a Scrum Master
--- Experience with Model-based Verification
--- Experience applying architecture frameworks (DODAF, ABD, Harmony, etc.)
--- Experience with Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM)
--- Integrating analysis tools via ModelCenter, or experience with software development
--- Experience with analysis/simulation development and integration
--- Experience with test planning, execution, and test automation
--- Experience with process development and deployment
--- Familiarity with Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Smart Tools, and other Intelligent Factory capabilities
--- Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or disciplines outside of Systems Engineering
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
--- Familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
--- Experience developing and documenting processes

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
