to the development of Blue Origins data strategy, help design and
test best practices for teams working on data science problems.
This team will generate and deliver insights to the entirety of the
organization while focusing on driving emerging technology and data
practices to the business.We are looking for an experienced Data
Scientist to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills,
and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human
spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is
required!Qualifications:
- 5+ years professional experience in data science
- 4+ year hands-on experience building scalable predictive models
on real-world data
- Ability to explain solutions to non-technical & technical
customers
- Ability to deploy solutions (Gitlab/Docker/Kubernetes)
- Authority in applying statistical, data-processing, or ML
libraries from open source software (e.g. R, Python, etc.)
- Solid understanding in basic statistics and application of
various statistical testing
- Solid understanding in some of statistical or ML modeling
approaches (supervised, unsupervised, generative, semi-supervised,
self-supervised, etc.)
- Experience in some of the advanced ML modeling techniques and
tools such as (but not limited to):
- - Tree-based ensemble modeling (xgboost, catboost, lightgbm,
etc)
- - Neural networks (pytorch, keras, tensorflow, etc)
- Comfortable getting and preparing data; this includes using SQL
as well as dealing with unstructured data that might require
calling REST APIs, or writing custom scripts
- Willingness to extend beyond core data science work to perform
(data wrangling, data prep and data transfers)
- Ability to demonstrate emotional intelligence, concern and meet
customers' needs with context to their challenge/opportunity
- Take ownership of work and operate under minimal direction,
including working with stakeholders on the production floor
- Ability to assess the effectiveness and accuracy of current and
new data sources and data gathering techniques
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:
- Masters or PhD preferred in Physics, Math, Engineering, or
other STEM
- Experience productizing vision-based models (images or videos
from various image sensors)
- Experience in time-series big-data processing and modeling
- Experience in applying explainability techniques to deep
learning models
- Experience in sophisticated model selection and hyper-parameter
tuning
- Proficient in ML algorithms for anomaly detection and
identification from sensor data
- Experience with some AWS cloud platform services associated
with analytics and deployment (Kinesis, Redshift, Glue, Lambda,
Batch, Elasticsearch, etc.)
- Experience in building visualization with Plotly/Dash,
Javascript/D3/Go.js, streamlit and/or Tableau
- Experience with fastapi/flask for model deployment
- Track record of researching and applying state-of-the-art
literature independently to develop solutions for novel and
ambitious Data Science applications
- Experience with network/graph analysis, and crafting
visualizations
- Working knowledge or direct experience with Gurobi and LP/IP
