Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a
Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Capture Operations to
join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will
be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) Systems Engineering
Integration (SEI) Integrated Product Team (IPT) is seeking a
Principal / Sr Principal Systems Engineer to support Capture
activities for an upcoming proposal. The selected candidate will
assist the SEI IPT Capture Lead in drafting Capture artifacts, such
as Technical and Cost volumes, for a Model-Based Systems
Engineering (MBSE) effort. The candidate should thrive in a
fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly
diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all
levels.
Essential Functions:
- Act as Capture integrator for the SEI IPT
- Support requirements allocation and interface definition support
to translate customer requirements into hardware and software
specifications.
- Performs Control Account Manager (CAM) duties for SEI
Integration
- Generates Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and Task Assessments (TAs) to
support development of Cost Volume
- Supports Risk/Opportunity Management for SEI IPT, as required
- Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches
and findings at Capture reviews and meetings
- Champions NCTA/Capital projects in support of tech development
and/or risk reduction
- Applies extensive technical expertise in the development of
technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular
use of ingenuity and creativity.
- Provide cross-IPT support for Capture efforts, SSOW/SDRL/CDRL,
and trade studies as required
- Work closely with peers and managers of other engineering
disciplines, program managers, and IPT leads
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Systems
Engineer level or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications:
- The basic qualifications for the Principal Systems Engineer are a
bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years professional/military
experience to include a background in systems engineering OR
Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years professional/military
experience to include a background in systems engineering
- The basic qualifications for the Sr. Principal Systems Engineer
are a bachelor's degree in STEM with 9 years professional/military
experience to include a background in systems engineering OR
Master's Degree in STEM with 7 years professional/military
experience to include a background in systems engineering
- Working knowledge of Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and
Integrated Master Plan (IMP) development
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a
background investigation completed within the last 6 years or
currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must adhere to Program security requirements while performing
work
- Must be able to effectively communicate with engineers and
management from multiple disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with MBSE experience
- Applied knowledge of aircraft design
- Experience in the military aerospace development environment is
preferred.
- Working knowledge of MBSE tools such as Cameo, Magic Draw,
Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and/or Enterprise Architect
- Strong understanding of common SE process, experience writing
ICD's
- Applies wide-ranging technical expertise and has knowledge of
other related disciplines.
- Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical
approaches and findings
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse, multi-disciplinary
team environment.
- Excellent leadership, communications , and interpersonal
skills.
- Ability to interface with all levels of the workforce and
management.
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the
regular use of ingenuity and guides the successful completion of
major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
- Proven experience with team engagement experience in a
leadership/Team
- Perform work with no appreciable direction. Exercises
considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of
assignment.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
