Job Description:

Position Overview
The Clinician facilitates improved student mental and emotional well-being through advocating, educating and treatment.

Objectives
Deliver high-quality therapy services, which include assessments, counseling and support plans
Provide a therapeutic environment in which the student can address life challenges and stressors
Facilitate the development of self-knowledge including strengths and challenges
Guide, inform, and educate non-clinical staff
Enable the eventual self-management of all behavioral health needs

Standard Activities
Conducts individual student counseling sessions
Conducts group therapy using evidence-based practices, as well as other services such as Facing Your Fears
Creates and manages behavioral support plans in tandem with the student
Assists student in assessing medication challenges in coordination with physician or psychiatric support
Coordinates with external providers regarding therapeutic or psychopharmacological needs, where applicable
Coordinates with advising to remain apprised of students' prescribed medications as well as for solution-focused family consultation
Assesses for safety when presented with concerns from the student or CIP team; monitors the risk of deliberate harm to self or others during individual sessions and in collaboration with team
Guides, informs, and educates non-clinical staff regarding privacy of diagnoses and their theoretical aspects
Participates in the admissions process through review of files, various assessments, reports, etc.
Other duties as assigned

Required Education / Experience
Master's degree in a field such as social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, Autism, Psychology or similar
Licensed by the state of practice
Proficient with office utility computer software programs and a quick learner in new technologies

Preferred Education / Experience
Experience in the field of autism and/or learning disabilities
Clinical experience in an educational setting among young adults with ASD

Travel
Minimal travel outside of local areaPI200581974
