Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Staff System Test Engineer specializing in Flight Test Beds (FTB) within our Test and Evaluation group. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. In this role you will lead a team responsible for the Integration and Test of Mission Systems capabilities and functions in a laboratory, flying test bed, and/or flight test environment. Based on system requirements, the candidate will assist in the development of test requirements and procedures, execute integration and test activities in a lab environment, evaluate systems functionality in a flying test bed, and support mission systems flight test evaluations. This Systems Test Engineering role will report to the Flight Test Manager and IPT Lead. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. The candidate must be able to collaborate closely with System Engineers, hardware and software engineers, and integration/test engineers to provide leadership and guidance within Northrop Grumman, our suppliers and customer. The candidate will lead test working group meetings, develop aircraft modification and test schedules, develop presentations to status task progress and cost/schedule performance for the various FTB projects. The candidate must have strong technical background, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in-depth understanding of mission systems functionality, and demonstrated integration and test experience with modern aircraft systems. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership for the Systems Test IPT, responsible for design, development, integration, and test execution of multiple surrogate FTB efforts supporting the Program
Work closely with the Program technical management to ensure on-time development and execution of the Programs FTB activities
Work with Engineering IPT's to define the requirements for the systems under test
Responsible for overseeing development of architectures, Interface Control Documents (ICD;') , and designs of FTB systems
Responsible for development of supplier Statements of Work
Ensure technical issues are understood, addressed immediately, and expeditiously develop & implement technical solutions and corrective actions
Lead system testing, reporting, development of test procedures and data acquisition
Decompose specifications to system performance, interface, test and verification requirements

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's of Science AND 14 years of relevant experience OR Master's of Science AND 12 years of relevant experience OR PH.D AND 9 years of relevant experience
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time Preferred Qualifications: 10 years experience in a Flight Test engineering capacity
5+ years of FTB experience
Experience with Avionics, hardware, or software Systems Integration and Test Procedure Development
Direct experience developing and/or operating surrogate flight test platforms
Master's degree or equivalent experience in Systems Test and or Flight Test certification
Active DoD Top Secret clearance (in-scope)
Knowledgeable in systems engineering, systems architecture, and IV&V engineering principles
Knowledge of systems design, integration, test, verification, and validation
Very strong organization, coordination, planning and teaming skills
Proven technical competence in a complex system development environment
Solid understanding of test methodologies, system architectures, and system troubleshooting
Avionics, Mission Planning and Integration and Test experience
Background, experience with requirements development and integration and test processes
Strong laboratory skills, flight test experience a plus
Networking experience a plus
Experience working across multiple engineering domains Salary Range: $122,500 USD - $183,700 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
