The NG Fellow in the field of Composite Stress Analysis is
recognized as the expert within the Sector in the area of
development and certification of composite airframe structure. The
following represent the skills, capabilities, and background of a
person that meets this requirement:
Technical Knowledge: Nationally recognized as a leading expert in
composite structural analysis. Internally, serves as the primary
domain expert for the Aeronautics Sector. This individual should
have a broad understanding of various types of aircraft and the
means by which those aircraft carry and disperse flight and ground
loads. Should have an in-depth understanding of the vehicle
development process, but be an expert in the understanding of the
requirements and methods of analyzing composite structure to
determine structural viability that leads to certification. This
individual should be able to quickly understand complex
configurations and be able to provide direction and means of
ascertaining appropriate analyses that lead to reasonable
solutions. Should possess a solid understanding and background in
loads development, preliminary and detailed design, static
analysis, FEM, D&DT, fatigue, bolted and bonded interfaces,
repair, structural test, and in-service mods, repairs and
extensions.
Leader: Able to respectfully and adeptly navigate and explain
complicated issues, methods of resolution, and associated solutions
to colleagues at all levels from entry level engineers to senior
company leadership. Able to obtain the trust and respect of
coworkers, program leadership, company leadership, and customers
and be able to drive consensus among the myriad of stakeholders
within a program. Actively participate and drive the development
and sanctioning of analysis methods for current and future
programs. Strives to integrate the rapidly developing and
innovative Aeronautics Sector R&D solutions into programs while
maintaining airworthiness certification.
Mentor/Instruct: Expected to persistently work towards the
advancement of engineers within and around structures analysis to
significantly increase the overall capability of the structural
analysis organization. Be a driver and collaborator in the
development of new and improved methods of analysis. Be a mentor to
both senior and junior level engineers. This individual will
develop apprentices/prot--g--s that could subsequently champion and
disseminate the proper approaches and methods to structural
analysis.
Impact: Empowered to make decisions and is accountable for results
that significantly impact the sector. Would be expected to be
involved in key program events (e.g. IRTs, NAR/ICEs, PDRs, CDRs,
FRRs, Tiger Teams). Available and accessible to multiple programs.
Develop interactions and relationships with industry governing
bodies and key customers (e.g. NavAir, AFRL, FAA). Expected to
interact with academia and to help foster a relationship between
Northrop Grumman and key universities.
Basic Qualifications for Fellow 1:
20+ Years with STEM Bachelors in Science; 18+ Years with Masters;
15+ Years with PhD.
A demonstrated history of being a SME in the field of Composite
Stress Analysis
Passion to advance technologies, tools, processes and application
of aircraft loads and dynamics for the defense of the US and our
allies.
U.S. Citizenship current DoD Secret clearance required
Special Access Program clearable within a reasonable period of
based on normal business needs.
Basic Qualifications for Fellow 2:
25+ Years with STEM Bachelors in Science; 18+ Years with Masters;
15+ Years with PhD.
A demonstrated history of being a SME in the field of Composite
Stress Analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven ability to apply cutting edge research to real mission
customer problems
Demonstrated ability to think broadly about applications of
composites structural analysis
Demonstrates broad technical expertise including multiple
patents/disclosures/relevant technical awards or external
publications/presentations.
Partners with Universities to further advanced technical research
studies and applications.
Serves as a lead thought leader within the DoD customer community
and within industry groups.
Demonstrated ability to identify common technology needs across a
broad portfolio of programs
Demonstrated track record of loads development and refinement
throughout program lifecycle
Proven ability to develop strategic and technology roadmaps and
experience translating those roadmaps into technology
development
Experience leading teams of technology professionals
Strong influencing and collaboration skills in working across
organizational boundaries
Proven effective communication skills at all levels of the
organization from executive presence to interaction at the
technical level
Understanding of Agile principles and methodologies
U.S. Citizenship with Current DoD SECRET security clearance
Salary Range: $169,000 USD - $253,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $177,500 USD - $266,300 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
