history.Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a
Staff Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The Systems Engineer must be capable of developing advanced systems
architectures with 5G technologies and reflecting those in customer
deliverable Cameo/DOORS format. The candidate must have experience
and expertise in developing all DoDAF and SysML views. The Systems
Engineer must be capable of working and developing product in the
tool sets. The qualified candidate must be able to present to
customers using the models. The Systems Engineer must also have
experience and expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE),
including standing up new MBSE environments and capable of building
all DoDAF and SysML views as described above.We are looking for
innovative thinkers who are interested in supporting the
application of commercial technologies to operational military use
cases. These technologies include 5G communications, machine
learning, and future wireless technologies in support of advanced
battle management capabilities. The qualified candidate must be
able to thrive in fast-paced environments, minimum skills include:
comfortable multi-tasking and reprioritizing daily, drafting
whitepapers and proposals, building PowerPoint and giving verbal
presentations, and self-educating without direction. Desired
experience in creating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and/or executing
program budgets.Essential Functions:
- Designs, develops, documents systems that contain logical
solutions using model based systems engineering
- Desired experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
including DoDAF (UPDM) and SysML
- Develop concept of operations for new technology incorporated
into DoD systems
- Must be self-starter and learning with minimal
supervisionContingency: Position is contingent on Program Award and
having an In-scope DoD Secret clearance Basic Qualifications for a
Staff Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or
Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14
years of experience OR
- Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or
Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12
years of experience in systems engineering OR
- PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or
Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9
years of experience in systems engineering
- Experience developing model based systems engineering
products
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a
background investigation completed within the last 6 years or
currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access
Program (SAP) clearance.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture modeling for
system design
- Experience with DOORS for requirements development and
traceability
- Experience in integrating complex system for air platforms
- Experience in integrating network
- Experience with 3GPP specifications and services
- Experience demonstrating concepts to management and
customers
- An active DoD Secret with an investigation within 5 years
Salary Range: $134,700 USD - $202,100 USD Employees may be eligible
for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses
are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including
