Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) Air Dominance (AD)
Systems Engineering Integration (SEI) Integrated Product Team (IPT)
is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Systems Engineer to derive
and capture requirements for an innovative model-based system. This
position is located in Melbourne, FL. The selected candidate will
utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to provide
support to the Survivability (SRV) IPT, and act as an Embedded
Systems Engineer (ESE) for cross-IPT collaboration within a Digital
Engineering Environment. As an ESE, the candidate will focus on
system architecture, model interface definition, supplier model
integration, Technical Data Packages (TDPs), technical integration
and coordination with internal and external engineering teams, and
support Program leadership regarding closure of program milestones.
The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with
high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and
collaborative/team settings across all levels.Essential Functions:-
Act as cross-IPT MBSE technical integrator between the SEI IPT and
SRV IPT- System Architecture development, Supplier model
integration, and internal system interface control (MBSE Cameo)-
Capture analytical tool and workflows (analytical architectures)
that contribute to the maturation of the program Digital
Engineering Environment- Support requirements allocation and
interface definition support to translate customer requirements
into hardware and software specifications.- Participate in
Allocation Control Boards (ACBs), Technical Review Boards (TRBs),
and other program reviews and boards, as required- Communicate
effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
at technical and program reviews and boards. - Applies extensive
technical expertise in the development of technical solutions to
complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and
creativity. - Provide cross-IPT support for Capture efforts,
SSOW/SDRL/CDRL, and trade studies as required- Work closely with
peers and managers of other engineering disciplines, program
managers, and IPT leadsBasic Qualifications:- The basic
qualifications for the Principal Systems Engineer are a Bachelor's
Degree in Science, -Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
discipline with 5 years professional/military experience to include
a background in systems engineering OR Masters Degree in STEM
discipline with 3 years professional/military experience to include
a background in systems engineering- The basic qualifications for
the Sr Principal Systems Engineer are a Bachelor's Degree in
Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
with 9 years professional/military experience to include a
background in systems engineering OR Masters Degree in STEM
discipline with 7 years professional/military experience to include
a background in systems engineering- Working knowledge of
Susceptibility and Vulnerability reduction principles, methods and
techniques- Working knowledge of MBSE tools such as Cameo, Magic
Draw, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and/or Enterprise Architect- Working
knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher
(with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years
or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)- Must adhere to
Program security requirements while performing work- Must be able
to effectively communicate with engineers and management from
multiple disciplines- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain
Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.Preferred Qualifications: -
Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical
Engineering with MBSE experience- Applied knowledge of
Susceptibility and Vulnerability reduction principles, methods and
techniques- Applied knowledge of aircraft design- Experience in the
military aerospace development environment is preferred.- Extensive
experience with Cameo - Experience developing various DODAF view
artifacts, especially Operational and functional viewpoints, using
MBSE tools like CAMEO. - Strong understanding of common SE process,
experience writing ICD's- Applies wide-ranging technical expertise
and has knowledge of other related disciplines.- Able to
communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches
and findings- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse,
multi-disciplinary team environment.- Excellent leadership,
communications, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to interface
with all levels of the workforce and management. - Develop
technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular
use of ingenuity and guides the successful completion of major
programs and may function in a project leadership role. - Proven
experience with team engagement experience in a leadership/Team-
Perform work with no appreciable direction. Exercises considerable
latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment-
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.Salary Range: $87,600 USD -
$131,400 USD Salary Range 2: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD Employees
may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
