Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a
Staff System Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.
In this role, you will be part of a team that is architecting the
entire test program encompassing lab, ground, flight, specialty
test, and test Instrumentation. This is an exciting opportunity to
get in on the ground floor of something new and to apply all your
past experiences and lessons learned to help define how we want to
With that, this is a new program, you must be comfortable working
in an environment where things are not fully defined. You will
often need to make/document assumptions and develop approaches
based on those assumptions.
The tasks that you will be performing include, but are not limited
- Decomposition of program and system requirements into test
- Definition and planning for pre-EMD risk reduction test
- Development of Specialty, Lab, Ground, and Flight Test
- Definition of test facility requirements. Perform trade studies
to determine optimal facilities. Development of plans to bring
facilities online.Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree AND 14 years of related
professional/military Engineering experience that includes a
background in Aerospace Test, OR a Master's degree AND 12 years of
related professional/military Engineering experience that includes
a background in Aerospace Test, OR a Ph.D. AND 9 years of related
professional/military experience that includes a background in
- Must have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of Test and
Evaluation, with the ability to decompose system requirements into
- Must have extremely strong communications skills, both written
and verbal (you will be spending a lot of time asking questions,
formulating ideas, and documenting them in test plans).
- Must have managed at least 1 project full cycle.
- Must have an Interim DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that has
been granted/renewed within the last 6 years or is under continuous
- Must be able to attain and maintain Special Access Programs
- Bachelors or Master's degree in a STEM discipline
- Experience working in multiple test disciplines (specialty,
ground, lab, flight, and/or Instrumentation).
- Subject matter expertise in at least one of the test
- Experience preparing Integrated Master Test plans
- Experience developing proposals and writing content for
proposal technical volumes.
- Current/Active Special Access Programs (SAP) Salary Range:
$122,500 USD - $183,700 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
