Your Specific Responsibilities:


  • Assists clients with OSTDS operating permit applications and renewals.
  • Provides information to the public relating to the OSTDS operating and service permit programs.
  • Assists inspectors in issuing enforcement action for non-compliant facilities
  • Accepts and process fees for Environmental Health (EH) permits and services.
  • Assist clients via multi-line phone answering, email, and office walk-ins regarding EH programs.
  • Completes data entry for EH programs and fees collected.
  • Maintains internal database and filing system.
  • Assists all Environmental Health programs with filing
  • Researches historical records pertaining to EH permit applications.
  • Accepts and processes Sanitary Nuisance complaints.
  • Maintains a daily log sheet of payments accepted and reconciles log with Accountant.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
    • Ability to use a personal computer and general office equipment
    • Knowledge of basic filing practices
    • Ability to maintain electronic databases.

      Qualifications:
      Minimum -

      • Will be required to work before, during and /or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency in response to a disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
      • Ability to file for long periods of time.
      • Minimum of one-year experience in answering a multi-line telephone system.
      • Minimum of one-year experience in PC use with Microsoft Office.
      • Minimum of one-year experience in accepting and processing payments.

        Preferred -

        • Experience in customer service and data entry.
