Must be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this positionJob Summary: Contractor will provide on-site support services focused on operations and maintenance of maritime vessel activities at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), Florida. Provides support for in-house assessment, coordination, and performance of operation, maintenance, cleaning, and repair of all maritime vessels and associated support equipment. This shall include but is not limited to:

  • Providing deck hand services on vessels ranging from 20 to 120ft - deploying and retrieving equipment in the water including rigging, line handling, and crane operations.
  • Performing periodic maintenance of shipboard support systems.
  • Compliance with organization Safety Policies, Procedures, and Reporting.
  • This position may require support during weekends to evaluate, prepare, and position necessary assets, equipment, and resources for upcoming operations.
  • Operating, repairing, and maintaining marine deck equipment such as cranes, winches, davits, etc.
  • Participating in planning and execution of mechanical, electrical, or system upgrades for maritime vessels
  • Previous Government R&D experience desired. Professional or specialized work that requires the interpretation and application of concepts, theories, and judgment regarding offshore deployments, mission support and crew support.
  • Tracking program activities and status reporting to synchronize and enhance mission objectives.Essential Job Functions in PORT:
    • Conduct routine and periodic maintenance, performs minor repairs and conducts pre- and post-operational checks on a variety of equipment including galley systems, generators, pumps, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, maritime crane, outboard engines, boat trailers, air compressors, steering systems, etc.
    • Paint maintenance and prep on all exterior surfaces, as well as interior machinery/work areas
    • Maintain inventory of vessels, sensors, and consumables acquired. Ensure proper disposal when necessary.
    • Provide support for planning, coordinating, managing logistics, operator training and general execution of tests, evaluations, exercises, training and operational fielding.
    • Manages ad hoc test support projects, including field support, movement, and liaisons with stakeholders in support of project assignments.
    • Performs hands on support to all aspects of Cape test operations as assigned.
    • Support the operation, repair, and/or maintenance of marine equipment such as cranes, A-Frames, winches, and Davits onboard vessels pier-side.
    • Serves and team member on Division-wide, multi-disciplinary efforts that involve critical maritime testing issues
    • Be capable of providing deck hand and swimmer services for deploying and retrieving equipment in the water when at docked.
    • Be able to pass a background investigation and receive a government security clearance.
    • Complies with CCAFS industrial hygiene and safety standards and requirements in workplace
    • Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish the ATl7 mission.
    • Travel approx. 7 days per month, foreign travel may be requiredEssential Job Functions at SEA:
      • Stand look-out watch, line handling, crane rigging/flagging, cargo load/offload, assist captain and engineer in operation and maintenance of the vessel.
      • Maintain high level of hygiene standards in living quarters
      • Maintain inventory of vessels, sensors, and consumables acquired. Ensure proper disposal when required.
      • Provide support for logistics, senior officers, and customers in general execution of mission operations.
      • Providing deck hand services for deploying and retrieving equipment in the water including rigging, line handling, and crane operations.
      • Manages ad hoc test support projects, including field support, movement, and liaisons with stakeholders in support of project assignments.
      • Performs hands on support to all aspects of Cape test operations as assigned.
      • Advanced/Rescue diver certified providing support duties as required
      • Be capable of providing deck hand and swimmer services for deploying and retrieving equipment in the water.
      • Be able to pass a background investigation and receive a government security clearance.
      • Complies with CCAFS industrial hygiene and safety standards and requirements in workplace
      • Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish the ATl7 mission.

        • AB Unlimited
        • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
        • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B
        • Basic & Advanced Firefighting
        • CPR/AED certified
        • Qualified to operate a fork lift and a 5000 pound capacity truck mounted crane
        • Provide training to other team members to create cohesive crewEducation/Training:
          • 5 yrs applicable industry experience
          • Basic/Advanced firefighting training
