Thales is currently looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our Software Engineering team to help develop our next generation In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) product suite. This position requires the candidate to be responsible for the complete life cycle of new or modified software products including research & design, implementation, training, and support. In order to qualify for an intern role, you must meet all of the following basic requirements: The Solution Engineering Management Intern will generate, aggregate and analyze metrics and performance indicators of engineering teams for the benefit of Solution Engineering Managers. There are opportunities for the candidate to offer solutions to automation of the metric generation and to assist the Engineering Managers in the decisions and actions to be taken based on the metrics. Duration: Session 1 (May, 2020 start) 12 weeks Session 2 (June, 2020 start) 12 weeks Location: Melbourne, FL Job Responsibilities: Must be able to demonstrate innovation in problem solving Must have clear communication with team members and product owners Must follow and support agile methodologies and practices by actively participating in all SCRUM ceremonies Must adhere to and develop best practices in software engineering Must be able to interact with individuals to solidify understanding of requirements and expectations Responsible for providing technical documentation for system, features, and components Responsible for providing thorough unit testing to ensure a quality product is delivered Expected to improve, enhance, and support existing operations The individual will create elegant and intuitive user interfaces Develop stored procedures and database interactions Skills and Experience: Currently pursuing one of the following degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related program Experience with C# (.NET), or similar object-oriented languages Exemplifies the Leadership Model oSimplify complexity - able to provide to introduce scalable design to enable redundancy oCooperate with Others - propose ideas to team members and drive technical approaches to oManage Self - exert additional effort to learn new technical subjects and identify areas of improvements oDevelop Team - provide technical guidance and help oAccountability - step in to take on challenge and commit to its delivery oWork through Influence - able to provide factual data and design to persuade stakeholders and team members to agree to the proposed solution.
