RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

General duties include maintaining the functions in the server room environment, including maintenance, equipment, operations, and programming, and provide user support. Other duties include enhancing the development of automated systems which support State Attorney operations; evaluating and resolving user problems; providing technical support for issues related to computer systems, software, hardware; diagnosing problems and recommending solutions; assisting with network issues; testing equipment for compatibility within our technical environment; researching new technologies and continually seeking to improve efficiency; setting up and maintaining virtual server infrastructure; assisting managers with high level projects; coordinating equipment deployment projects; assisting and providing guidance to other technicians; and recommending and implementing improvements to current IT systems in various offices.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from a two-year college, trade school or certifications with data processing related course work, two years of technical office automation and computer related experience. Progressively responsible experience as required above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required training.

DESIRED SKILLS

The successful candidate must have knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Office Suite, the major operating characteristics of both wide area and local area networks, computer equipment, data communications and support software; comprehensive and professional knowledge of IT equipment and network software; the ability to diagnose failures, perform studies and evaluate changes; and be familiar with IT standards, security, and system software.

The applicant will demonstrate knowledge of the principals and practices of supervision and management; project control and cost estimating techniques; and methods of computer programming and system design. The ability to prioritize and resolve urgent requests, think logically and problem solve, direct feasibility and cost analysis studies, and understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures is required.
