Systems has an opening for a Sr Principal Software Engineer to join
our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Position is located in
Melbourne, Florida.In this role you will design, develop, integrate
and test software for our end-user customers and businesses.
Specifically, you will be responsible for the design, architecture,
development, and administration of embedded and real time systems.
You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems
Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, DevSecOps and
Systems Test, in an Agile software development environment. You
will analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program
intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming
techniques and controls.Essential Functions:--- Work in a
fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly
diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all
levels--- Participate in the full software development life cycle
including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and
delivery of software products to our customers--- Operate in an
embedded technology development environment working with real time
operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems---

employees!Basic QualificationsMust have a Bachelor's degree in a
STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military
software and/or systems engineering experience, OR a Master's
degree AND 7 years of related professional/military software and/or
systems engineering experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related
professional/military software and/or systems engineering
experience.Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher)
that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 5 years).Must
be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
prior to startExperience with the full Software Development Life
Cycle (SDLC)Experience with at least one of the following
programming or scripting languages: C, C++, and PythonExperience
with one of the following tools: Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket,
Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Fortify, or
CoverityExperience with one of the following: Software
Requirements, Software Integration, Software Testing, Embedded
Software ProgrammingFamiliarity with at least 1 of the data
interfaces: 1553, 1394, 429, Serial, CAN, Discrete & Analog I/O,
Ethernet/IP, or Fibre Channel--- Must have an active DoD Secret or
higher clearancePreferred QualificationsStrong understanding of C
and C++ languages including templates, memory storage, and
compiler/linkerStrong understanding of python language constructs
as well as familiarity with commonly used modulesUnderstands
differences between embedded and application software
architecturesBasic understanding of layered software architectures
(e.g. Application, System, Device)Basic understanding of least two
of the following:Overall software architecture on current/past
programSoftware hardware interfaces and where they exist in the
architectureEvent driven (Interrupts), polling and synchronous
software architecturesAbility to collaborate with systems
engineers, hardware designers and integration/test engineers to
develop and maintain complex software systemsExcellent
communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface
with all levels of employees and managementAbility to obtain and
maintain a Top Secret ClearanceSalary Range: $112,000 USD -
$168,000 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
