the future.Northrop Grumman is seeking a Technical Editor and
Writer to join the Defense Systems Program. This position will be
located in Melbourne, FL. The qualified candidate will become part
of Northrop Grummans Strike and Special Mission Aircraft Business
Unit, Special Programs Logistics and Operations Unit in the
Logistics and Modernization Division.Roles and
Responsibilities:Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents
such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming
manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related
technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively
technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of
audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product
developers, observing performance of production methods, referring
to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations,
and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials,
selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality
review of materials.NGSkillsBasic Qualifications:
- Must have 7 years of relevant experience. Will consider 3 years
with Bachelor's Degree; or 1 year of experience with Masters
Degree.
- Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts,
industry practices, and standards with regard to technical
writing
- Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform
fairly complex professional tasks
- Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering
drawings, specifications, and system description documents
- Be able to write in XML
- Must have active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to maintain
with background investigation within the past 5 years
- Must be obtain and retain Special Program access clearance
within 365 days from submission.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience writing in XML/S1000D International Specification
for Technical Publications/IETM/Data Module writing (Arbortext,
EAGLE, XMetal, or similar program)
- Experience with the Eagle/EPS publishing system
- Experience in utilizing the USAF Flight Manual or Maintenance
Manual change process
- Experience creating and reviewing Illustrated Parts Breakdown
using MIL-DTL-38807 or MIL-PRF-38807
- At least 4 years experience as an air vehicle operator or
maintainer.Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $80,300.00Employees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
