Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will support multiple database types which support in-house and vendor COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) products. Additionally support and coach configuration management concepts and assist Blue Origin configuration data management teams.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities:

  • Primarily working with Oracle; also, familiarity with MongoDB, Postgres, NoSQL and MSSQL.
  • Provide intelligent, thoughtful peer reviews to multiple database owners.
  • Fulfill DBA daily activities including monitoring alert log, memory, disk I/O, CPU, database network connectivity.
  • Collect reports using AWR, ADDM and snapshots analysis determining CPU bottlenecks, I/O capacity issues, high load SQL statements.
  • Configure automation for RMAN backups; monitor health of database instances using OEM grid control 19c.
  • Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity and performance and resolve with internal team or vendor support.
  • Regularly updating the database security protocols.
  • Familiarity supporting and troubleshooting various vendor software from a DBA perspective. Managing vendor support cases.Required Qualifications:
    • BS or MS degree in Computer Science
    • 5+ years of experience in managing enterprise scale databases.
    • 3+ years of intense experience as an Oracle DBA.
    • Ability to operate autonomously in REHL (Linux) and Windows MSSQL Server.
    • Knowledge of and ability to implement best practices regarding Backup, Disaster Recovery, Data Security and Integrity.
    • Ability to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of database technologies, including those on a cloud and on premises environment.
    • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired Qualifications:
      • Good professional skills, both written and verbal.
      • Ability to learn and support cross functional roles during peak work times.
      • Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time.
      • Previous user training or helpdesk experience a plus.
      • Support and coach configuration management concepts and perform or assist with internal configuration data management to support the New Glenn program.
