The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) Air Dominance (AD)
division is looking for a candidate to support our Cyber team. This
is a vital position supporting flight critical software design and
development. Candidate will be responsible for implementing real
time embedded cybersecurity requirements, software, and testing.
Candidate will work under only general direction, independently
determines, and develops approaches to solutions supporting the
program needs. Candidate will act as a liaison from time to time
with frequent inter-organizational and outside customer
contacts.
Candidate shall be willing to travel to other sites to support
TIMs, integration efforts, and other software related tasking. The
Candidate shall also be willing to adjust work schedule to meet the
needs of across the nation as required.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications
software and systems that contain logical and mathematical
solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates
with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning,
design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing
systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer
user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on
program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition,
programming techniques and controls; prepares operating
instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers,
utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards
are met.
Essential Functions:
--- Develop a cybersecurity architecture and provide technical
leadership for others during implementation
--- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex
difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and
consistent with programs objectives
--- In depth understanding and wide application of technical
principle, theories, and concepts in the field listed under the
basic qualifications
--- Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software
and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
--- Conduct multidisciplinary research when needed and collaborates
with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning,
design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing
systems for product
--- Follows and ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications:
--- BS in Electrical Engineering or another STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineer, Mathematics) discipline 9+ years of software
engineering experience (7 years with a MS; 4 years with PhD)
--- Working knowledge of full product life cycle (requirements,
design, implementation and test) of Software Design
--- Demonstrated experience developing architectural trade analysis
and related documentation
--- Experience performing market analysis to identify COTS/GOTS
candidate solutions for integration
--- Experience defining system functions and allocation to
responsible software components to implement
--- Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to
communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all
levels of management and individual contributors
--- Knowledge of Embedded Software Systems Design and
development
--- Demonstrated software programming experience in C, C++, and
embedded assembly languages (e.g. ARM)
--- Experience with embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS)
such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Mentor Nucleus, or Linux with
PREEMPT_RT
--- Development of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
--- Experience reading and interpreting military requirements,
specifications, and engineering drawings/schematics
--- Familiarity with revision control, documentation, planning, and
review systems similar to GIT/SVN/ClearCase, DOORS,
Jira/Rally/ClearQuest.
--- Experience participating in DevSecOps pipelines leveraging
industry standard continuous integration (CI) and continuous
deployment (CD) toolsets
--- Ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and
independently
--- An ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
Preferred Qualifications:
--- MS in Electrical Engineering or comparable engineering
discipline
--- Experience with virtual machine technology and containers
--- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
and Kubernetes
--- Ability to understand secure / insecure programming concepts
(format string vulnerabilities, heap overflows, etc.)
--- Familiarity with common source control tools (git, Mercurial,
etc.) and automated build system workflows (Jenkins, Go, etc.)
--- Experience with the Agile methodology
--- Experience in anti-tamper and cybersecurity implementations
also a plus
--- Experience and knowledge developing requirements for Firmware
products
--- Active Top Secret security clearance
Salary Range: $134,700 USD - $202,100 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
