Job Description:

Our client is one of the largest suppliers to the home building and construction industry. They have over 60 years of experience and are recognized as one of the top employers in Melbourne, FL. They are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team. Salary/Hourly Rate: $55k+ Depending on experience Position Overview: The Human Resources Generalist will provide comprehensive support to the HR department on various HR programs and initiatives. Responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist:

  • Assist with all new hires, ensuring all required documentation received and pre-employment screening is completed prior to start date.
  • Work with hiring managers to coordinate new starts.
  • Administer time & attendance policies and review timecards in preparation for weekly payroll processing.
  • Process ADP change requests.
  • Maintain employment files ensuring completeness and compliance with employment laws.
  • Ensure all pertinent documents are filed in personnel, payroll, and medical files.
  • Ensure compliance with I-9 recordkeeping regulations including performing annual I-9 audits.
  • Ensure the company adheres to annual EEO and OSHA reporting regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll, entering hours, deductions, rate changes, transfers etc. Review payroll reports before finalization.
  • Process employment verifications and reemployment insurance verifications according to state regulations and company policy.
  • Process all terminations according to company procedure, including updating HRIS, notifying applicable departments/parties, ensuring proper documentation, etc.
  • Assist the department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from the database as needed.
  • Cross-train and assist in various HR duties, including recruiting, benefits administration, employee relations, safety, etc.
  • Other HR and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications of the Human Resources Generalist:
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Human Resources.
    • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to effectively communicate with people in potentially demanding situations.
    • Prior recruiting experience is a plus.
    • Practical knowledge of I-9 form and related regulations.
    • Practical knowledge of payroll processing is a plus. Education Requirements:
