Description:The is responsible and accountable for providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by collaborating with the Clinical Systems Manager, Senior Clinical Systems Educator, Clinical Coordinators of Informatics, and other clinical systems associates and non-associates (Eclipsys, CPM Resource Center) to design, train, support implementations, and evaluate clinical systems programs and tools to support electronic clinical documentation systems utilized throughout Health First.
Communicates with IT regarding changes in associate/non-associate security status as it relates to clinical systems educational processes.
Maintains timely, bi-directional communication with HIT in regard to application delivery, upgrades and PC issues in the training environment.
Partners with HIT and HIM ensuring confidentiality and security policies are maintained.
Designs, implements, and evaluates clinical documentation educational programs for electronic clinical systems; offers educational opportunities for personal growth and development and offers standardized, unit-specific education to meet the employment opportunities within Health First, Inc.
In coordination with Clinical Informatics Manager and the Senior Clinical Educator, the Clinical Educator helps design, implement, and evaluate all electronic clinical system educational programs utilizing adult learning principals. This includes but is not limited to (STAR Clinicals, Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) course, Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM), (software within SCM to include Knowledge Based Charting (KBC), ED Manager, e-MAR, and Orders Management), Vocera, Opti-Flex Charging Systems.
Actively participates in the audit and reporting process to ensure user needs are met, updates training plans accordingly.
Maintains centralized database for course completion and certification for all associates.
Collaborates with HR Recruiters to ensure all new clinical associates receive application training immediately upon hire. This includes computer class assignments, application security requests, training environment builds, actual hands-on education, management follow-up and data-basing.
Maintains knowledge of current healthcare issues and trends especially concerning computer technology for patient care, education, healthcare, nursing practice, nursing informatics, regulatory standards, JCAHO, and HIPAA.
Recommends new/improved processes, services, and equipment to enhance productivity and/or decrease costs.Qualification:BSN or BS in relevant field. At the managers discretion, experience may be substituted for degree.
Nursing Informatics OR Education certification preferred
Minimum 3 Years clinical experience in related field
Current state licensure as appropriate
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical information technology
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint), Peoplesoft, Remedy
Minimum 2 years Educational facilitator experience
Demonstrated understanding of clinical operations within Health First
Ability to focus on details as well as overall objectives
Strong customer service orientation
Demonstrated hands-on knowledge and philosophy for all systems within clinical systems scope of responsibility.
