Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week Education Graduate of an accredited
school of professional nursing BSN preferred 2 years Clinical and 1
year Supervisory or Leadership preferred Experience /
Qualifications Current RN licensure in the state of Florida BLS
certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare
Providers. ACLS certification through the American Heart
Association for Healthcare Providers. Preferred - PALS
certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare
Providers. Specialty Certification Preferred Knowledge and
familiarity with health care delivery systems, nursing process, and
concepts of case coordination. Knowledge of personal computers,
hospital information systems, and patient care applications.
Knowledge of and ability to utilize the principles of adult
learning. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to
participate on and/or lead teams effectively. Ability to develop
solutions to problems, and to lead staff through the change
process. Ability to articulate ideas and knowledge both verbally
and in writing, in a concise manner. Position Summary The Assistant
Clinical Manager coordinates the operations of the patient care
area for the shift and manages the patient flow. The Assistant
Clinical Manager applies nursing process and theories, as well as
principles of psycho-social and physical sciences, in assessing,
planning, diagnosing, implementing, evaluating, and modifying
patient care utilizing evidence based practices. The Assistant
Clinical Manager practices autonomously within professional nursing
standards, the ANA Code of Ethics, and the ANA Bill of Rights.
Assigns team members to the Operating Room Manages the day-to-day
operations of the operating room schedule Communicates with
Surgeons and their offices to facilitate the OR schedule Prepares
patient care assignments utilizing Relationship Based Care; the
total patient is considered in the delivery of care. The ACM has
independent authority to determine assignments on nurse
competencies, patient characteristics, patient locations,
anticipated admissions/discharges, etc. Participates in the hiring
process, performance reviews, and disciplinary process of team
members in the ACM respective unit. Strives for quality outcomes
and innovative practice in accordance with the Florida Nursing
Practice Act and the Hospital/departmental policies. Ensures that
practice is in accordance with the required competency for that
area. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing
services delivered by themselves (or others who are under their
direction). This is done through participation in quality assurance
or performance improvement initiatives. The ACM collaboratively
provides care with other disciplines to ensure optimal,
individualized patient care and outcomes. In managing patient care,
the ACM will take a leadership role coordinating the
interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with other health
team members to enhance patient outcomes. Effectively uses and role
models current leadership techniques and theories, encouraging the
decision-making skills of staff members and providing insight and
leadership in complex situations. Ensures that information
disseminated to staff is monitored for effectiveness and changed as
needed. Understands and enforces hospital and personnel policies
and procedures. Serve on hospital and Patient Care Services
committees, teams, and work groups as requested. Performs other

self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift
up to 20lbs. Threshold Requirements These threshold requirements
are required and completed yearly basis. Annual Joint Commission
mandatory education requirements, in-service and health
requirements including attendance at new employee orientation,
TB/PPD Surveillance Program, Maintenance of required professional
licensing and/or certification(s).
