American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Melbourne, Florida. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with Level II Trauma Center experience and FL or compact RN license for a variable schedule role. Responsibilities - Work in the PACU of a Level II Trauma Center hospital setting - Rotates to Phase II PACU outpatient discharge as needed - Patient ratio is typically 1:2 - Variable day shift start times between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm, 4x10 hour shifts - On-call required 4-6 night shifts every 6 weeks and every other weekend, with call scheduled Monday to Friday from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, and weekends 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am - Floating required to any of four hospitals within the health system - Every other weekend or approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period required - Uses SCM for documentation - RNs must rotate to both main PACU and Phase II outpatient discharge areas - Must be prepared to float between all system hospitals as needed - Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs and manager approval - Scrubs must be any solid color with matching tops and bottoms, and no logos or prints - Free parking is available with a decal provided during orientation - All finalized time off must be submitted with application; changes not permitted post-offer - Clinicians must wait at least 1 year after leaving an internal contracted position before reapplying - Training modules are completed during orientation and annually via facility LMS system - Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers Requirements - Active FL or compact RN license required at time of application - Minimum of 1 year PACU RN experience required - Level II Trauma Center experience required - Proficient or expert skills in neurological and cardiovascular PACU sections - Ability to titrate drips - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS - Must be within 30 minutes of the hospital to take call - No first-time travelers accepted - Two professional references from managers, supervisors, charge nurses, or directors within the last year required - Flu vaccine required during flu season, with medical or religious exemptions only Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-612058.
