Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and titration of drips. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in the PACU of a hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center - Patient ratio is 1:2 in PACU - Expect variable start times between 9:00am and 12:30pm for 10-hour day shifts - Requires rotating to Phase II PACU for outpatient discharge as needed - Required to float within scope to all four hospitals in the system, with a home base assigned - On-call is required: 4-6 night calls within 6 weeks Monday-Friday (11pm-7am), plus on-call every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) - Weekend coverage is required, typically every other weekend or six shifts per six-week period - Uses the SCM documentation system - Will provide preoperative and post-anesthesia care, including titrating drips and rotating to discharge area as needed - Holiday and hurricane staffing are per hospital policy for travelers - Block scheduling may be considered, subject to manager approval - Must adhere to dress code: matching, solid-color scrubs with no logos or prints - All absences or time off must be requested and approved prior to start - Free parking provided with decal at orientation - Modules and annual education are completed via facility LMS during orientation - Travelers must wait at least one year after prior contract before returning - Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers - No radius requirement for eligibility /n /n Requirements/n - Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum of 1 year recent RN experience in a PACU setting - Level II Trauma Center experience required - ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required - Must be proficient or expert in neurological and cardiovascular sections of PACU skills - Experience titrating drips is required - Must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital for on-call response - Two references from a manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director within the last year required - Flu vaccination required between 10/31 and 3/31 (medical or religious exemption allowed) - First-time travelers are not accepted - No pending licenses accepted; license must be active at submission /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-610499.
