License: Valid state or compact license required Certifications:
ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Knowledge of titrating drips -
Majority proficient or expert in neurological and cardiovascular
PACU skill assessment - Ability to float to other facilities as
needed Description: The position is for a PACU RN. Variable start
time options include 9 am, 9:30 am, 10 am, 10:30 am, 11 am, 11:30
am, 12 pm, and 12:30 pm. Call is required Monday through Friday
from 11 pm to 7 am, with 2-4 calls within a 6-week period. Weekend
on-call may vary between 7 am to 7 pm or 7 pm to 7 am,
approximately one weekend per month. RNs are expected to rotate to
phase II PACU outpatient discharge when needed. RNs must be within
30 minutes of the hospital to take call. Experience in Level II
Trauma Center is required. RNs must be proficient or expert in all
areas of neurological and cardiovascular PACU skill assessment.
Weekend commitment includes working every other weekend or a total
of six weekend shifts per six-week period, depending on unit needs.
Patient ratios will be 1:2. Documentation will be managed through a
specified electronic charting system. Travelers will float to all
facilities as required. Travel pairs are accepted, although they
may not guarantee the same schedule. Two references from authority
figures within the last year must be provided. This role involves
caring for patients recovering from various surgeries, including
but not limited to laparoscopic surgeries, hysterectomies,
mastectomies, and spinal fusions. RNs will provide care for
patients with diverse diagnoses, including hypoventilation, cardiac
arrhythmias, and hypovolemia. Special equipment proficiency is
required. Travelers must comply with all health and safety
policies, including vaccination requirements.
