steps. - Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a
Senior Principal Instrumentation Mechanical Designer (Test Labs) to
join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test &
Evaluation organization. This position will be located in
Melbourne, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for
mechanical designs associated with flight test mechanical
equipment, and integration onto test vehicles. These design
activities will be associated with any of the following - cable
interface assemblies, data acquisition hardware, and a variety of
sensors design to measure stress, thermal, vibration, and linear /
rotational displacement. - We offer flexible work arrangements,

self-motivated, proactive Responsibilities may include:
- Facilitating the mechanical design life cycle from concept to
system integration for flight test instrumentation hardware.
- Facilitating cross IPT / discipline collaboration in the
development of flight test instrumentation designs.
- Procuring hardware in support of mechanical designs.
- Serving as the point of contact with vendors, manufacturers,
and technician teams in the fabrication, assembly, and installation
of flight test instrumentation equipment.Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Math) discipline and 8 years of related
professional/military experience in engineering; OR a Master's
Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related
professional/military experience in engineering; OR a Ph.D. in a
STEM discipline and 4 years of related professional/military
experience in engineering.
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated
government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required
for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined
by the company.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with lab and flight test
instrumentation.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Systems Test and or
Flight Test certification.Salary Range: $118,600 - $178,000The
above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health
