All Medical Personnel has several exciting and rare job opportunities for those wishing to work part-time on a permanent basis at one of four ports: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Cape Canaveral, or Tampa. If you are a Medical Lab Tech, we have multiple openings in these locations.Job Position: Medical TechnologistLocation: Cape Canaveral, FLSchedule: Could be any day of the week beginning at 7 am until 4 pm. Will be on PRN basis when ships are departing PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES

• Follows written lab procedures for the correct handling and processing of specimens.
• Performs lab procedures of waived moderate complexity in accordance with standards set forth in sectional POC procedures.
• Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all technical procedures in the department and operations of all POC instrumentation. Reviews all pertinent SOPMs. Manipulate and operate simple and complex laboratory equipment including computers; problem-solve equipment malfunctions.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new employees. Participates in the training of technical staff and monitors their progress with supervisor. Serves as a resource to peers and other personnel.
• Performs quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records. Reviews and analyzes quality control data, identifies QC trends or problems, makes judgments and takes appropriate corrective action. Prior to releasing any test results. (If applicable)
• Operates POC instruments and performs routine maintenance & procedural calibrations. Diagnoses, troubleshoots and documents all lab instrument and / or reagent problems. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance/repairs and maintains records of actions. Contacts technical services representatives when necessary to resolve problems.
• Reviews accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System (if applicable). Recognizes unexpected or unreasonable results and/or testing delays.
• Follows protocols for acceptance/rejection of patient results.
• Locating and transporting specimens as per company standards and protocols.
• Completes routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines.EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MLT, LT or Associates of Science degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science
  • Phlebotomy certification (if not part of training under MLT, LT program)
  • State Licensure, where applicable.Minimum Requirement:
    • 1+ years of experience
    • Flexibility is a must, based on a business needs
    • Mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the college level (2 years)
    • Good verbal communication skills
    • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently
    • Excellent patient interaction skills both in person and by phone
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
