Requisition No: 323584 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: DENTAL ASSISTANT - 64054755 1 Position Number: 64054755 Salary: $955.20 bi weekly Posting Closing Date: 05/06/2021 Minimum Qualifications: + Emergency Duty + Dental Assisting Certification + Dental Radiography Certification + Experience performing sealants and prophylaxis on children + Experience assisting on surgical procedures such as extractions + Willing to travel to other clinic locations Preferred Qualifications: + Experience maintaining and ordering dental office supplies + Dental related clerical knowledge such as scheduling patients and maintaining patient records + Knowledge of dental office equipment and understanding of routine maintenance Dental assistants perform both clinical and clerical duties that include: Preparing patients for dental work. Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures. Providing great patient care. Recording treatment information in patient records. Exposing dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment. Placing dental sealants as prescribed by dentist. Assisting dentist on procedures such as restorations, extractions, stainless steel crown placement and pulpotomies. Performing dental prophylaxis and placing topical fluoride. Giving patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs. Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs. Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist. Caring for dental equipment. Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory.
