RN Nurse Manager Trauma Program Holmes Regional Medical Center Description: POSITION SUMMARY\\:To be fully engaged in providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior Quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship by supporting the operational and administrative function of the Trauma Program of Holmes Regional Medical Center. Leadership representative of the organization to the FDOH, other state and local entities and the community.The TPM reports directly to the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and the President of the HRMC (via the VPMA) to assure\\: (1) optimal trauma patient care services and quality outcomes, and (2) compliance with state and national standards for Level II Trauma Center designation. Works in concert with the Trauma Medical Director and HF leadership to continually strive to achieve successful outcomes for all care and programs associated with the trauma service. Operational Manager for all internal/external program initiatives and requirements as defined by the State of Florida Trauma Standards and the American College of Surgeons.The TPM is closely involved with administrative operations, financial support, clinical services, educational activities and outreach initiatives of the Trauma Center/Acute Care Surgery at the HRMC. The TPM develops and maintains the Trauma Center at the HRMC's trauma registry and serves as a liaison to the State of Florida Department of Health and Division of Emergency Medical Services.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES\\:Demonstrates excellence in strategic planning and coordination for the management of the quest for optimal care of the trauma injured across the care continuum. Demonstrates outstanding trauma patient advocacy through use of data and informational findings to develop measurable patient care and injury prevention initiatives.Assures ongoing monitoring and system re-design to focus on excellence of care.Acts as an agent for the Trauma Medical Director to assure compliance to all FDOH standards and those applicable under other regulatory rules and statutes.Administrative functions include initiating, developing, planning and evaluating activities to the Trauma Center at the HRMC's mission of providing optimal trauma care as defined by the National Trauma Guidelines and the State of Florida's \"State-Approved Trauma Center and State-Approved Pediatric Trauma Referral Center Approval Standards\".Responsible for the Trauma Center at the HRMC's mission statement, strategic planning and personnel support.Coordinates efforts between the local and regional trauma systems, supporting optimal quality of care for adults and children within the context of the American College of Surgeons Optimal Care Guidelines, the Florida State Trauma Center Standards, Joint Commission Standards, and the Trauma Center at the HRMC's Policy and Procedures.Oversees data set entry of the Florida DOH's Acute Care Hospital Registry for all Health First hospitals.Assists and supports the Acute Care Surgery department with developing, planning and evaluation of an Acute Care Surgery database.Qualification: QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED\\:Trauma care expert as evidenced by experience as a direct care provider and participant in trauma systems design.Active License, State of Florida Registered Nurse.Bachelors degree preferred.Specialty certifications in trauma care.Educational expertise in quality design, injury prevention and measurement and trauma care.AHA BLS, ACLS and 10 hours trauma-related education annually required and maintained. (50% must be from external conferences)TNCC or equivalent.Three to five years experience in clinical analysis of organizational, regulatory and data systems.Excellent communication skills in oral and written, graphic and electronic formats.Demonstrated ability to apply ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes and other trauma scoring methodologies.Develops expertise of MS Office and other databases within scope of review process.Identifies learning needs and develops the overall plan for trauma related continuing education activities for Physicians and Associates.Oversees or assists in the coordination of advanced trauma nursing courses in accordance with state trauma standards.Assists in the delivery of ATLS by becoming ATLS Course Coordinator.PHYSICAL DEMANDS\\:Ability to sit for long periods.Manual dexterity required for typing and filing.Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform various tasks.Associated topics: coronary, domiciliary, infusion, intensive, maternal, nurse clinical, recovery, registered nurse, staff nurse, unit
