Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Mission Management Lab System Test Engineer 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. Laboratory System Test Engineer synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations. Essential Functions: Perform requirements analysis and decomposition including developing derived requirements as needed to test the system Develop test equipment and simulation requirements Develop Testability Requirements Develop Mission Plans for major Test Events Support Systems Engineering to develop Verification Cross Reference Matrices Develop Test Planning Detail Sheets Develop Test Plans and Detailed Procedures Support Test Equipment Checkout and System Integration Support Test Execution as First Line Troubleshooter Perform as the hardware responsible engineer for the subsystem under test Perform technical interactions with the system test team to ensure system requirements are being verified Write Test Reports Support troubleshooting of issues discovered during subsystem and system level testing The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. MELENG SITEASBasic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of test and/or integration engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of test and/or integration engineering experience OR PhD Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following areas is required: Communications, Data links, Computer networks, Sensors, Avionics, COTS hardware, Integration, and/or Failure and Lab Test Demonstrated experience testing aircraft (via labs, ground or flight testing) Must be able to independently develop, execute, and maintain system test procedures for a complex subsystem/system A current DoD Secret level security clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years Must be able to obtain and maintain program access prior to start Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering Program Access Knowledge of automated software testing methodologies and processes Failure modes and effects testing lab or flight testing Demonstrated leadership abilities to effectively lead a small team through all phases of integration and test from design of test philosophy to delivery to the customer Knowledge of the following tools, DOORS--, ViTech CORE, Fundamentals of Systems Engineering, VISIO--, CPLM, and Automated Testing (Python, C++, Java) Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
