Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a System Engineering Functional Homeroom Section Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership position will be located in Melbourne, Florida. The selected candidate manages a section of Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineers reporting to the System Architecture, Modeling and Simulation Department Manager on a 15% allocation. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies as well as maintaining their current technical statement of work for the remaining 85% of the work week. Management responsibilities include: planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a system/mission thread work packages, subsystems, or related group of work packages or across multiple interrelated programs with full responsibility for all aspects of technical performance on large system development-type contracts, large delivery orders or mid-size technical services-type contracts. Technical responsibilities will include executing Modeling and Simulation, and Mission Analysis efforts for autonomous systems, manned ISR and BMC2 platforms and future growth opportunities. Essential Functions:
--- Conducts weekly flow down meetings with assigned staff
--- Attends weekly flow down meetings with the Department Manager
--- Supports staffing needs as assigned
--- Conducts goal planning, performance evaluations merit budgeting

To learn more about our hiring process for manager positions, please view our "Selecting the Best Qualified Managers" video: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 7 years of engineering experience
Direct experience in M&S/ Analysis methodologies and tools/standards (such as MATLAB or STK or AFSIM) or M&S VV&A process
Minimum of one year of experience leading a team
Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced STEM Degree
Experience using Rhapsody or Magic Draw to model large systems with multiple developers.
Previous Systems Engineering Thread Lead role.
Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.
Preference for final active DoD Secret within 5 years
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Working knowledge in various aspects of Unmanned Aerial Systems (air vehicle, ground station, operations, sensor payloads, and/or communications) and Manned ISR and BMC2 Platforms
Active, In scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance
" Salary Range: $123,900 USD - $185,900 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
