This leadership position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.The selected candidate manages a section of Architecture Systems Engineers reporting to the System Architecture, Modeling and Simulation Department Manager on a 15% allocation. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies as well as maintaining their current technical statement of work for the remaining 85% of the work week. Management responsibilities include: planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a system/mission thread work packages, subsystems, or related group of work packages or across multiple interrelated programs with full responsibility for all aspects of technical performance on large system development-type contracts, large delivery orders or mid-size technical services-type contracts.Essential Functions:--- Conducts weekly flow down meetings with assigned staff--- Attends weekly flow down meetings with the Department Manager--- Supports staffing needs as assigned--- Conducts goal planning, performance evaluations merit budgeting--- Provides technical guidance related to process and training to staffThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.As a leader, you always act with integrity, and the highest ethical standards characterize everything you do. You deliver excellence, strive for continuous improvement and respond vigorously to change.To learn more about our hiring process for manager positions, please view our "Selecting the Best Qualified Managers" video: www.northropgrumman.com/SQMVideoBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 7 years of engineering experienceRecently demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering practicesMust have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced STEM DegreeExperience using Rhapsody or Magic Draw to model large systems with multiple developers.Previous Systems Engineering Thread Lead role.Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.Preference for final active DoD Secret within 5 yearsExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and managementActive, In scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance"Salary Range: $123,900 USD - $185,900 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
