  • a holistic view of the Rail and Transportation Market ( Railway Signaling part ) in the North America Region, providing feedback to the business in the form of market positioning, data supporting R&D investment, and competitive intelligence. Ensure that the sales and business development team, solution management team, and Bids and Tender team are operating in concert with the same dataset supporting the winning roadmap for our products and solutions within the market. Provide support to the solution management and business development teams as the need arises in the creation of business cases, management/maintenance of opportunity/capture plans, and upkeep of the databases storing all the strategy and competitive intelligence information. Organization Structure Americas Region: Strategy, Bids & Integration Team Organizational Reporting Solid line reporting to Strategy, Bids & Integration Director Responsibilities
  • Primary owner/driver of the Country Strategic Plan deliverable and process within the management framework of the business unit. Follow up on all outstanding actions and activities related to the maturation of the continuous strategic planning activity.
  • Analyze the market to support the definition of the Solution strategy and roadmaps
  • Understand the market and perform Market segmentation
  • Capture new market requirements to support the solution roadmap and baselines elaboration
  • Capture knowledge on competitors solutions and produce benchmarks and Vectors of Differentiation
  • Together with solution management team, support the development of Solution Offering, including system specification, roadmap, and R&D programs for Product Approval Boards, support the building of the business case based on market knowledge
  • Propose strategy orientations and evolutions, and Challenge internal choices versus competition trends
  • Develop and update the Solution System Specification, per market segment
  • Define and maintain the Roadmap and Solution Baselines
  • Propose R&D programs with associated Business cases / Provide the Region with the appropriate technical and commercial support and material to promote Solutions
  • Create and maintain a solution technical and commercial pack for lobbying and pre-tendering activities
  • Support opportunity analysis, together with the BD/Sales team with competitiveness focus on Win/Loss analysis
  • Maintain opportunity database (Salesforce) strategic account management coverage, and be the primary internal interface for Opportunity Tracking and Status. Primary contact for management of corporate forecast tracking tools
  • Ensure proper follow-up on customer inquiries, product documentation requests, meeting requests, site visits, technical visits, and tendering activities.
  • Create & Maintain internal metric tracking mechanisms for historical and projected Orders/Sales/Margin.
  • Interface with a corporate marketing group in the preparation & maintenance of detailed customer business models, how companys products and services align to them, deliver added value. Skills, Experience, Education :
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, marketing, or engineering, and 7 or more years in a previous/similar technical marketing role. MBA preferred with 5 or more years in a previous/similar technical marketing role.
  • Strategic or product marketing exposure, including product development, Value Story creation, and launching new technology with customers
  • Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions
  • Previous experience or knowledge of the Rail/Transportation market and rail signaling technologies a plus
  • Solid experience in business development. Experience building growth plans is preferred
  • Able to develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels
  • Detail oriented, able to be self-directed on longer-term projects
  • High level of follow-through, drive and initiative
