Position SummaryThe Director of Sales is responsible for converting incoming inquiries, closing sales with individual seats and upselling to full capsules when possible. The Director will initiate outgoing sales initiatives and contacts, identify individuals and groups who have the potential for flying. The overall mission is to connect with potential customers and develop strong relationships, successfully relaying the entire customer journey in a way to generate excitement and emotional connection. Core Accountabilities and Essential Functions

  • Develop key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans to reach potential customers in a direct sales capacity.
  • Successful execution of strategies and tactics is required to achieve the companys financial targets as well as individual booking goals.
  • Build relationships and understand customer trends and behaviors, both within our customer base and potential customers as well. Assist in the development of overall marketing strategic plans to positively impact the direct sales process and purchase funnel. Recommend marketing strategies to support sales efforts. Assess current sales processes and procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement them.
    • Take incoming leads from website, emails and phone calls from potential customers interested in gaining more information to consider buying a ticket and full capsules.
    • Make outgoing calls and introductions to individuals who have signed up for our newsletter and other warm leads generated.
    • Initiate outgoing sales initiatives, identifying individuals and groups who have the potential for flying.
    • For potential customers, provide details on the flight and entire journey to generate excitement and emotional connection, identifying what is important to each person and selling directly to their needs and desires. Close the sale personally selling individual seats and capsules to reach individual revenue goals and assist the company in reaching overall goals. Take customer through the process of confirming a seat on-line, including financial and contracting details.
      • Work efficiently and confidently within the CRM to manage customer data.
      • Ability to work in Excel and other platforms to calculate percentages, pricing, deposits, etc. discounts quickly and accurately.
      • Be an integral part of the team in creating the Customer Journey, from first touch, through flight, and after.
      • Coordinate and effectively represent our product at special promotional events, trade shows and client events as needed.
      • Ability to actively participate in revenue management strategy meetings with the CEO, CMO and sales and marketing team. Constantly work on improving sales skills to increase sales success rates Work well in a teamwork environment, interacting within the sales and experience organization as well as engineering, operations, marketing and more. Generate and submit sales reports to management when required. Jointly supervises Sales Assistant/Mission Support with other Sales and Experience Directors.Required Education and Experience
        • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
        • A minimum of six (6) years of sales experience, with a tourism, experiential product, or luxury product/service/experience to high end customers.
        • Sales experience in commercial tourism or demonstrated long-term interest in and knowledge of space tourism/spaceis required.
        • A minimum of two (2) years as Director of Sales. Required Qualifications
          • Effective communication, both written and verbal, and excellent presentation skills.
          • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
          • The ability to collaborate, inspire and work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with all team members.
          • Desire and works best in a demanding, start-up environment. Prior start-up experience preferred.
          • Strategic driven, possessing a positive can-do attitude.
          • Strong sales skills, with ability to provide sell to the customer needs and develop a relationship of trust, moving the customer to purchase.
          • Interest in life-long learning and growth.
