Job Summary
The ECG Continuous Improvement Engineer I will assess, evaluate,
and provide recommendations for improvements in relation to
manufacturing quality and production efficiency. This Engineer will
use a variety of lean manufacturing tools and concepts to map all
inputs and outputs of a defined process while working with
department leaders to implement recommendations and drive change.
This person will need to be able to establish strong
cross-functional relationships quickly and have a passion for a
positive customer and associate experience as well as lead the
coaching efforts of servicing agents.
Must be willing to work second shift which starts at 2pm, Monday
thru Friday. Responsibilities Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost
Leadership/ Safety
- Leads Six Sigma improvement process through leading,
motivating, and influencing project teams.
- Represents and encourages a continuous improvement culture
within the site.
- Create developmental process plans by first identifying
opportunities for their improvement.
- Communicates daily feedback and formal project
reviews.
- Communicates effectively and respectfully with all levels of
the company.
- Works closely with associates as a coach to help them improve
and/ or add to skill sets as needed for overall site
efficiency.
- Engages and influences 5S practices.
- Influences buy-in for safety by recognizing, adhering to, and
including safety standards in continuous improvement projects and
their implementation
Quality/ Delivery/ Cost
- Creates and executes processes to analyze opportunities and
strengths of the department as well as individuals
- Is a change agent in recommending solutions to improve quality,
procedures, training, and coaching initiatives, and implements
approved recommendations
- Creates quality parameters within plans/projects to ensure
accurate quality measurements and tools are implemented
- Partners with Quality team to ensure timely and accurate
remediation of defects and errors.
- Conducts effective Kaizen events that produce cost improvements
quarter over quarter
- Oversees continuous improvement projects using the Lean Sigma
DMAIC framework to eliminate re-work, provide cost savings,
increase revenues, and increase customer satisfaction within the
site.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree from an accredited university in
Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
- Green belt certified
- Must have sound knowledge of Mini-Tab or similar analysis
software
- Must utilize all Lean Six Sigma tools
- 2+ years of Lean Six Sigma experience in a manufacturing
environment
- Must have analytical and results-oriented outlook to ensure
performance metrics are in place being utilized not only to
identify opportunities, but also to track improvement of
processes
- Must have extensive experience in manufacturing with a
high-performance history
- Ability to lead, teach, negotiate, investigate, root cause,
resolve issues, recognize opportunities for improvement or change,
and measure improvement at the process level
- Proven track record of building influential relationships with
internal customers; ability to influence across departmental lines
without direct authority
- Have experience in the role of process mentor or coach
- Must have decision making and prioritization skills
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Proven ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail

Working Relationships
Communication is required with management personnel as well as
individuals within all levels of company. The Continuous
Improvement Engineer I works directly under the supervision of the
Director of Continuous Improvement and Quality. The Continuous
Improvement Engineer I is expected to exemplify CARE values in all
