Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a
Manufacturing Engineer/Principal Engineer (Level 2/3), to join our
Supplier Manufacturing Engineering team of qualified, diverse
individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne,
Florida.
The Supplier Manufacturing Engineering (SME) organization looking
to expand its team. This highly visible position requires a
motivated self-starter with a manufacturing background in military
aircraft composite, machine part fabrication, coatings and/or sub
systems that has excellent interpersonal skills to respond to
program customer needs. The candidate will also be involved with
resolving supplier production questions, tooling needs and will
thrive in a small, high performance team environment. Candidate
must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task and communicate
effectively with varying levels of program customers and functional
organization leadership.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Provide technical and
operational evaluations of suppliers manufacturing capabilities.
Provide requirements integration between customer, engineering and
suppliers. Provide Subject Matter Expertise to resolve supplier
technical questions and issues related to product topics. Provide
assessment of supplier's new technology, capability and
manufacturing process maturity. Ensure producibility and
affordability of designs and manufacturing systems are communicated
succinctly between suppliers and the program NGC engineering
teams.
Travel required (up to 25%)
This position may be hired at a level 2 or level 3 depending upon
candidate qualifications and experience.
Typical Minimum Education / Experience - Level 2
2 Years with Bachelors in Science STEM; 0 Years with Masters
STEM
Typical Minimum Education / Experience - Level 3
5 Years with Bachelors in Science STEM; 3 Years with Masters STEM;
0 Years with PhD STEM.
Basic Qualifications - Level 2:
Bachelors of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
Math) degree, with 2 years of experience in an aerospace or
military aviation Manufacturing Engineering or engineering role; or
Masters Degree in STEM with 0 years of experience in Manufacturing
Engineering or an engineering role
Bachelors (Non-STEM) with 4 years experience in production
assembly/fabrication in manufacturing environment, including
composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production
manufacturing operations OR Master's (Non-STEM) with 2 years
experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites,
metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing
operations
HS Diploma/GED or AA degree with 8 years of experience in
production assembly/fabrication, aerospace manufacturing, including
composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production
Demonstrated experience to formulate and execute technical
solutions to part, assembly and tooling challenges
Demonstrated Project Management experience
Demonstrated experience using Windows software suite packages and
other electronic databases
Have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Program
Access

Bachelors (Non-STEM) with 7 years experience in production
assembly/fabrication in manufacturing environment, including
composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production
manufacturing operations OR Master's (Non-STEM) with 5 years
experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites,
metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing
operations
HS Diploma/GED or AA degree with 11 years of experience in
production assembly/fabrication, aerospace manufacturing, including
composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production
Demonstrated experience to formulate and execute technical
solutions to part, assembly and tooling challenges
Demonstrated Project Management experience
Demonstrated experience using Windows software suite packages and
other electronic databases
Have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Program
Access
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Supplier Technical Management experience with manufacturing
of military hardware
Experience with Siemens NX tools and Manufacturing Execution System
(MES)
Knowledge of military requirements/standards
Knowledge of FAR & DFAR requirements
Active DoD Secret with an up to date SAP/SAR access clearance
Salary Range: $64,600.00 - $97,000.00Salary Range 2: $79,700.00 -
$119,500.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
