several experienced Staff Materials & Processes Engineers
specializing in metallic or composite materials, non-destructive
inspections, or coatings and/or subsystems for airframe structures
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our
Vehicle Engineering organization. Positions located in Melbourne,
Florida and relocation assistance is available.Key
responsibilities:Performs root cause analysis of material failures,
provides effective solutions to production composite
issuesGenerates test plans & reportsAnalyzes, researches, designs
and develops materials and their related fabrication and
application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in
engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and
subsystemsApplies principles of chemistry, physics, and material
behavior to develop non-metallic processing specifications,
fabrication and assembly processesDevelops, analyzes and applies
material properties and design allowables, processing processes and
quality engineering specificationsMaterial analyses may include
failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life
predictions, and definition and requirement specificationsMay
review and approve subcontractor material processing proceduresMay
travel to subcontractor locationsMay mentor less experienced
engineersBasic Qualifications:Staff M& P Engineer (level 5)
requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of relevant
experience; OR a Master's degree and 12+ years of relevant
experience; OR a Ph.D. and 9+ yearsof relevant experienceAt least
one degree must be in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited
universityBackground in metallic materials, composite materials,
non-destructive inspections, or coatings and/or subsystems for
airframe structuresExperience with metal or composite fabrication
and design on aircraftExperience with repair processes for metal or
composite materials used in aerospace structuresMust have the
ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance prior to
startMay be required to obtain and maintain a Special Access
Program (SAP) ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Degree discipline
in Materials Science or similarExcellent verbal and written
communication skillsExperience leading or mentoring less
experienced engineersAbility to collaborate in a team
environmentAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or
accomplishing them simultaneouslyAbility to comprehend and analyze
complex problems and develop solutionsExperience with military
specs and standardsExperience interfacing with a military

$189,100 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
