Development Programs business unit.As part of a growing,
hardworking, and curious team ofdesign engineers,you'll be deployed
to programs that shape the future of Blue Origin.Yourskillin the
design and analysis ofspacecraftstructures,as well as your ability
todeliver safe, reliable, ready to install hardware that meets
requirements,whiledoing sowithin theallocatedcost and schedule
requirements,will lead to a rewarding career with Blue
Origin.Responsibilities:
- Participate in the entire design cycle of structural and
mechanical subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design,
trade studies, structural analysis, development testing and
qualification.
- Generate 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and
interface control documents.
- Create documentation for assembly and testing of development
and flight hardware.
- Participate in subsystem level testing including planning,
execution, data reduction and analysis.
- Develop component specifications and manage suppliers.
- Provide manufacturing and production support.
- Participate in the development and purchase of new equipment
and tooling.
- Work with cross-functional teams that are responsible for
selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to
produce world class aerospace hardware.Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace
Engineering.
- 5 years experiencewith automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or
launch vehicle structures.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:
- Design of metallic and composite structures for hypersonic
vehicle or spacecraft, including thermal protection systems
- Ability to apply structural mechanics principles and
development designs using hand calculations and finite element
analysis.
- Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD
software, Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10.
- Design of metallic and composite structures for hypersonic
vehicle or spacecraft, including thermal protection systems.
- Material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques
for rapid development of prototype and flight hardware.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for
selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the
design to produce world-class engineered products.
- Familiar with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5),analysis codes:
Nastran, ANSYS,Optistruct, LS/Dyna, AbaqusDon't meet every single
