part of a small team, you will develop and execute commercial
quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of launch
infrastructure, launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related
technologies. You will be responsible to drive quality products
throughout the organization by maintaining a corporate culture that
emphasizes accountability, discipline, and attention to detail at
all levels. You must have a passion for solving complex problems
and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on
your own initiative; and be adaptable as you will work on a variety
of applications and systems. We are looking for an individual that
can implement innovative quality initiatives that will support the
development and construction of the New Glenn orbital launch site,
as well as transition into a role supporting the integration of
payloads for the New Glenn orbital vehicle.We are looking for
someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and
commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Responsibilities:
- Work hand-in-hand with General Contractors and subcontractors
to develop and execute the project-specific QA/QC plan with scopes
of work and work procedures
- Implement project-specific QA-QC Plan in coordination with the
project safety plan
- Establish and maintain working relationships with construction
company, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to
ensure that the QA/AC Plan delivers a fully compliant project
- Understand the project execution plan and coordinate Quality
Control procedures at appropriate stages of the work and in line
with the project schedule
- Conduct testing and inspections and arrange for third-party
testing and inspections, as well as analyze and report the
results
- Direct removal and replacement of, as well as document all
nonconforming materials and / or workmanship concerns. Document
compliance after corrective work is completed prior to starting any
subsequent work.
- Develop and implement quality inspection processes for launch
vehicle pad construction, as well as the integration and launch of
the New Glenn vehicle
- Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance
consistent with organizational quality goals
- Integrate quality system applications between engineering,
manufacturing, test and operations to ensure the consistent and
ongoing use of quality best practices and communication of quality
issues
- Facilitate trouble shooting of quality issues with diverse
teams, lead causal analysis activities to drive to root cause and
corrective action. Includes supporting General Contractor during
nonconformance investigations and oversee corrective actions are
identified and implemented
- Perform periodic audits of the application of the Blue quality
system
- Recommend initiatives and/or changes that will improve product
and system quality
- Support planning and execution of AS9100 certification of
launch site operations by 2021
- Set Quality Plan requirements for subcontractor proposals and
evaluate subsequent bidsQualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. in engineering or science
- 1-3 years' industry experience in the engineering field
- 1-3 years' construction experience that bridges both field and
engineering responsibilities
- Knowledge of construction process, means and methods, and
materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and
tolerances.
- Quality assurance experience in operations and testing
environment
- Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation
preferred
- Knowledge of design for inspection or testability
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System
and/or related quality systems and programs
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylumDesired:
- Quality construction experience with large structures, with
preference around human-rated systems
- Quality assurance experience around the integration and
launching of space vehicles
- Quality Management System audit experience
- Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
- Experience/familiarity working to consensus construction codes
such as ASCE 7, ACI 318, NFPA 70/NEC, etc.Don't meet every single
