a part of a small, cross-functional team, you will be actively
involved in the development, recurring operation, and maintenance
of offshore and pier-side electrical, communication, and data
acquisition systems supporting the recovery and offload of New
Glenn flight hardware. Your role will include requirements
decomposition, trade study support, build execution, and
verification/validation testing of command and control, telemetry,
networking, and power distribution systems. You will work with
other element teams to develop operational requirements and
advocate for design-for-operations.We are looking for someone to

- Support the installation and checkout of mission critical
electrical and communications systems supporting real-time
telemetry data, video, and voice in rocket launch environments to
support reusable spacecraft operations
- Support verification of requirements and specifications through
bench test, hardware/software integration, and field testing
- Write sequencer code and create controller panels
- Manage & troubleshoot offshore electrical and network comm
systems in real-time through all phases of launch & landing
operations
- Author and execute activation, checkout, landing, and
maintenance procedures
- Conduct hazardous remote operations and direct technicians in
the field
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external regulatory
bodies (Range, FAA, FCC, USCG)Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or
equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in at least one area: complex
electrical, RF communication, or network communication systems
- Experience developing operational and preventive maintenance
procedures on critical electrical systems
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex systems, and
recommending system repairs and improvements to mitigate recurring
failures
- Knowledge of the theory of operation of sensors for various
measurement applications (pressure, temperature, displacement,
force, acceleration, etc.)
- Strong safety record and mindset, including hands-on experience
planning and conducting hazardous or critical tests and
operations
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Ability to work offshore on maritime vessels supporting
recovery operations, and for extended periods of time
- Ability to work independently and as part of a highly
diversified team
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylumDesired:
- Ability to travel periodically in support of test and flight
operations
- Experience performing work in compliance with CFR's, Coast
Guard Standards, American Bureau of Sipping Guidelines, National
Electrical Code, and other applicable standards for marine
applications
- Knowledgeable in Qt/QML, Simulink, MATLAB, Python, and/or
Git
- Experience with Ethernet/RS-422/RS-485/CCSDS based
communication protocols
- Experience with launch vehicle avionics and/or vehicle
operations
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting PLC's, data
acquisition systems, and electrical test equipment
- RF and/or SATCOM knowledge and experience setting up and
troubleshooting microwave comm systems and associated test
equipment
- Experience analyzing RF broadcasting equipment and suggesting
improvements
- Experience with marine offshore operations
- Florida Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to be
quickly certified as a FL PE
- System Safety analysis experience including Failure Modes,
Effects and Criticality Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and
Functional Hazard Analysis
