Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has several openings available for Structural Analysis Engineers and Principal Structural Analysis Engineers (levels 2 and 3) to join our Vehicle Engineering team! Positions may be located in Melbourne, Florida or San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA and relocation assistance is available. Essential functions: Performs static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program Ensures that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives The analyst may also be expected to derive non-flight applied loads, create, extract and distribute internal loads, and perform weight and stiffness optimization. Tools utilized may include FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications Collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously Comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions This requisition may be filled at either a Structural Engineer level 2 or Principal Structural Engineer 3 level based on the qualifications below. Basic Qualifications Structural Engineer: BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2+ years' experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis; OR MS or Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 0+ years of experience Principal Structural Engineer: BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5+ years' relevant experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis; OR MS in a STEM discipline and 3+ years' relevant experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis; OR Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1+ years of experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance Preferred Qualifications: Airframe experience with Advanced Composite Materials Current in-scope DoD clearance Ability to collaborate in a team environment, Able to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result while prioritizing multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously Able to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions *Salary bands listed are for Melbourne, FL Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
