Structural Engineer 3 - Launch Operations

Job Description:

Your Role: What you'll be doing

  • Producing architectural and structural designs in support of ULA Atlas V, Delta IV, and Vulcan Launch Operations. Structural items include such items as access aids (e.g. ladders, small work platforms, etc.) and safety systems (e.g. handrails, personnel tie-off points, etc.); Architectural items include space management of existing work areas, improvement/repair of existing facility interiors and exteriors as well as new designs from the ground up.
  • Developing proposals and estimates to execute various projects
  • Managing contractor employees in the completion of projects
  • Assessing existing installations against OSHA and other codes and creating code compliant corrections
  • Creating detailed designs/drawings primarily in 2D AutoCAD but occasionally in 3D model space
  • Review of other's designs to ensure they meet OSHA and other standards
  • Design Checker: feasibility of fabrication & implementation of design (form, fit and function)
  • Some travel in support of activities at VSFB

      Your Background: What skills you'll need

      • Must be a US Citizen to work for CCSFS
      • Bachelors of Engineering in Structural or Mechanical, or an Architectural degree
      • Strong familiarity with OHSA requirements in the work place
      • Advanced AutoCAD 2D skills
      • 4-8 years of experience in applicable fields
      • Experience with project management and estimating is preferred
      • Experience working on a federal installation is preferred
      • Revit experience is preferred
