Job Description:

Location: Melbourne , FL Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform test execution, manual and automated, of User Stories within sprints and larger software releases to help validate that bug fixes and new features are adequately tested with a customer-provided test procedure template. Test types to include functionality, regression, defect retesting, customization testing, and scenario testing.
  • Execute test procedures and provide for each release a Test Report or update in the Defect Reporting tool, in a customer provided format, detailing:
  • Tests conducted, with Pass/Fail status
  • Issues and exceptions encountered, with details of steps to reproduce
  • Any changes needed to test procedures.
  • Develop updated Test Procedures.
  • Perform software release tests as follows:
  • Execute Testing of all Test Cases in a Test Environment
  • Execute official Software Release Testing of Configuration Management Released Label
  • Execute Regression Tests
  • Execute validation of defects or software changes on hardware and simulators
  • Execute Sanity Tests, Regression Tests, Functional Tests, Blackbox tests, Whitebox tests, Soakrun tests
  • Support retesting of any Software Rebuilds (should they occur).
  • Provide attendance at team meetings, investigate system problems to assure timely release of software to the production system
  • Tests to be executed on customer-provided test environments, in the customer test facility in Melbourne FL.Required Skills (Technical Competency):
    • BS or higher in either Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
    • Experience with embedded software application testing
    • Experience with QNX, Unix/Linux
    • Experience with HP ALM, XWiki, Confluence, Rally, IBM Clear Quest or similar tools
    • Experience with version control system Git, Perforce
    • Experience with Software Verification Testing, Regression Tests
    • Ability to work with field service teams in a cross-functional, global environment
    • Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and internal and external employees
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Self-starter and ability to lead the effort with minimum supervision
    • Learn and adapt to new requirements or changesDesired Skills:
      • Experience with Scripting or C/C++ software developmentPhysical Requirements & Work Environment:
        • Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
        • Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
        • Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
        • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
        • Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
