Job Description:
Position: Engineering TechnicianThe CompanyVision Engineering
Solutions, LLC serves the defense and aerospace industries with
products and engineering services related to electro-optical (EO)
tracking systems, and to the transmission and collection of optical
data and imagery. We design, integrate, refurbish, and operate EO
systems for a broad spectrum of applications, including free space
optical communication, space launch support, space domain
awareness, and DoD RDT&E programs. Vision Engineering
Solutions, LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business
established in 2011, and located in Merritt Island, Florida, just
south of Kennedy Space Center. Our current and previous customers
include Army PEO STRI, Army SMDC, NSWC Dahlgren, NIWC Pacific, Air
Force SMC, AFRL, Lockheed Martin, and University of Central

Director for performance evaluations, and to the Lead Engineer for
daily technical assignments. The Company is looking for a
self-starting, versatile individual capable of integrating into a
team and quickly learning new skills.Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly,
Non-ExemptLocation: Merritt Island, Florida. This is an in-person
position, not virtual.Required FunctionsUse hand tools and power
tools for assembling/disassembling/installing/removing
equipmentSolder electrical connectionsBuild product sub-assemblies
using specific instructions and simple hand toolsPrepare equipment
for lifting via hoist and forkliftOperate a forklift to
place/remove material on/from shelves, and to move trailersOperate
a hoist and gantryCalibrate electronic test equipmentInstall/remove
components into/from optical tracking systemsInspect and test
mechanical, electronic, and optical equipment for proper operation;
troubleshoot and resolve issuesConfigure an optical tracking system
according to instructionsOperate an optical tracking system and
collect required data on the object being tracked Operate a pick-up
truck, and use it to tow cargo trailersAssist engineers in product
design, development, and production.Prepare layouts and drawings of
parts to be made and of the assembly processEstimate materials and
labor hours required for assigned tasksOperate a computer to
generate reports, spreadsheets, emails, etc.Required Education,

FunctionsWeldingOperate a lathe, mill, and drill press Operate a 3D
printer to produce components as directedDesign, develop,
manufacture, and test electronic and computer-controlled mechanical
systems.Design, develop, manufacture, and test electrical and
electronic equipmentEvaluate design drawings by measuring
dimensions on the drawings and comparing them with the original
specificationsPrepare layouts and drawings of parts to be made and
of the process for putting them together.Assist in product design,
development, testing, production, and modification.Review
instructions and blueprints for projects to ensure test
specifications and procedures are followed and objectives are
met.Plan, produce, and assemble new or modified mechanical parts
for on-hand industrial machinery or equipment.Set up and conduct
realistic testing of components and systems to evaluate performance
and identify areas for improvementDocument test procedures, test
data, test results, recommended changes in test procedures, and
recommended changes in items testedCompare test results to design
specifications and test objectivesUse AutoCAD or similar software
for component designDesired Education, Qualifications, Experience,
Etc.Experience with optics, optical tracking systems, and/or
lasersActive Department of Defense security clearancePhysical
RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee
is regularly required to sit, hear, talk, use hands to finger,
handle, or feel. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms;
stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and smell.
Regularly required to lift and move up to 20 pounds, frequently
lift and move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to
50 pounds. This job's specific vision abilities include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, and the ability to adjust focus.This job description is
